I worked at Valparaiso University part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The work environment itself was quite comfortable and easy going, and my supervisors and coworkers were very helpful and understanding. The rest of the staff was diverse and fun to work with, ages 18-60 and all of them were respectful and hard working.

    Cons

The only complaint I have is the number of hours given to myself and others, I would have liked to be given the opportunity to work more.

I have been working at Valparaiso University part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Gained valuable experience while retaining the convenient hours and location on campus, worked personally with bosses as opposed to dealing with a chain of information.

    Cons

There is no reward for individual effort, all bonuses and raises are institutional so that my experience, time working, training are not important in terms of what I get paid. Only the specific type of job matters.

I worked at Valparaiso University part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Projects are fun and exciting as it concerns all Students and Faculty members of which you are one. Colleagues were very friendly and accommodating of my schedule as a Student. Integrity and hard work are usually rewarded. You learn a lot from so many spheres of education.

    Cons

I really enjoyed my time and it was quite an eye opener so there's very little negativity working on campus. However, you have to bring your A game as Professors and Lecturers might be quite impatient when solutions are needed.

I think they could increase the wages a bit to help student's cope better with the city's higher than average living expenses.
