    I worked at Valtera Corporation

    Pros

Work for large clients is interesting, some decent networking opportunities.

    Cons

Valtera has always operated something of a fear based culture. Whether the economy is good or bad, there is a paranoia that pervades the attitude of senior management here that, frankly, makes it a strikingly poor place to work.

It is especially bad on the technology side of the business. It is utterly ironic that the company that preaches employee engagement the most has so little of it. They are a classic case of the "Cobbler's Shoes Problem", where the child of the cobbler goes shoeless.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the company as soon as possible to a larger, better managed organization that can more effectively leverage some of the client relationships you have developed over the years.

I have been working at Valtera Corporation

    Pros

    - We have a good team in our office
    - Decent benefits
    - I enjoy working with our clients

    Cons

    - I used to love working here before Valtera bought our company.
    - There is a real lack of communication and teamwork in this company and clients pay the price.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really don't have any since I do nto think they care. Several of our senior managers are in over their heads and need to be replaced.

    - This company sells employee engagement surveys but does not try to engage its own employees.
    - Weak project management tools, made our job very difficult and prone to error.

I have been working at Valtera Corporation

    Pros

The employees are well trained and do really good, really smart work. Customer focus is very high and everyone truly wants each client to be satisfied.

    Cons

There is such an emphasis on high-quality work that the hours can be really grueling when major deliverables are due.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay focused on providing real world solutions. Move the emphasis away from academic and research results to everyday business results.

    I worked at Valtera Corporation

    Pros

    - Name recognition in the field
    - Good place to learn project management skills
    - Fortune 500 Clients
    - Good on-board training

    Cons

    - No work/life balance
    - Extreme favoritism
    - No room for advancement
    - Technology is slow to catch up (running many years previous version of a program when there are newer better versions on the market)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a better standard for management. Some managers are good to work for and other's should not be in their positions. Make promotions based on ability, not tenure.

    Cons

Efforts are not recognised and once you are in there are no salary hike or bonuses. Economy is blamed even when company does well. No encouragement and no exposure to new stuff .....
    There is no growth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
