I have been working at Vantiv full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is growing and full of quality employees. The pay is good and the bonus program is one of the best I have experienced.

    Cons

Lack of direction by upper management and the outsourcing of IT has made it nearly impossible to do your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start spending money to support the technology needed in the back office to support the growth the company has experienced. Also, allow managers to make decisions.

I have been working at Vantiv full-time

    Pros

Very large amount of PTO and holidays (they're a bank)

    Cons

Any good idea, passed through enough manager's hands will become a money-sucking drain that cannot be stopped due to pride and ego. It will be finished, at the arbitrary time, whether it is a steaming pile of dung or merely another carbuncle the understaffed IT will have to support until there job is outsourced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to be an IT company, begin by modeling yourself after one. Your impression of what an IT company does and acts is far from reality.

I have been working at Vantiv full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

New and innovative ways to accelerate transformation in IT and in the payments industry; IT taking a different and exciting role in the company; salary and benefits

    Cons

It is a company in transition and some colleagues have a difficult time letting go of the old way of doing things. New management is coming through, their ideas and and approaches are making the company better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be patient. Folks will eventually get it.

    Pros

Great benefits, and salary is okay

    Cons

Human resources is a joke, they are not for the employee. They don't care if you leave.
Not one person of color is in upper management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes and look around your company.
Your merchants are not all white. You need to have a diversity firm come in and help the company out.
Great company but if you are a person of color you will not be promoted.

I have been working at Vantiv full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Offer pretty good benefits, plenty of vacation and are flexible on schedule. You work with good people. Local management works hard to help you succeed. Pay is above average.

    Cons

No practical training. Company invests nothing to help you advance or learn more. As IT specialist you are now liable for anything that goes wrong even when its not your fault. Upper management puts all the blame on the command center by default and has forced management to treat employees like highschool students by monitoring everything you do. Turnover is massive and getting worse. Also Vantiv will outsource as much as it can get away with. Only thing that holds them back are their customers (fifth third) who refuse to work with outsourced employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your lower level employees, there are lots of smart people moving out that could have been utilized. Dont be afraid to put blame on yourselves or senior leaders. No training and cutting staff/outsourcing tends to have negative impacts on customer service.

I worked at Vantiv full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Teammates were good and dedicated until ruined by management.

    Cons

Schedule horrible. Salary worse. Management doesn't care about employees. All management cared about was bottom line. Worked over 80 hours a week sometimes and got nothing for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit reating your employees like slaves. Don't outsource

    Pros

It's a job. You make some money.

    Cons

Training is pathetic. Micro-managed to the extreme. Everything about what you do is analyzed. You learn everything on the fly and you're questions are almost always answered by telling you to refer to the online knowledge base.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about why that place might possibly have a revolving door.

I have been working at Vantiv (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are very little Pro's of working at Vantiv. That is why solid staff is departing. We are compensated well - they are simply trying to buy our loyalty.

    Cons

Executive leadership is so dysfunctional it is comical. There is little trust at the top and micro-management is horrible. The execs simply won't get out of our way or theirs.

There is NO work / family balance. The only culture is the lack of a culture. We look terrific on paper and on the walls, but this place is smoke and mirrors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hand over the reins. Let your talented team do what they are trained and paid to do. Trust us. Please.
There are too many sacred cows (dead weight) still remaining from FTPS. Suck it up and make the hard decisions now before we are impacted more. Incompetence abounds.
