Current Employee – been working at Vcu Health System Authority full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Partially paid tuition
Medical Insurance
Proximity to Downtown Richmond amenities
Ability to makes tons of connections
Cons – Bad management
Tricky health plans
No parking
Tons of turnover
Advice to Senior Management – Please start paying more attention to the facility and it's daily processes. Stop throwing money away on frivolous things that are not cost effective in the end. MCV is historically know for having "too many hands in the pot" syndrome. Leadership really needs to start making real decisions cohesively and stop being so title driven. If you keep trying to get recognition for yourself this organization will never get to the level of its' competitors.

Current Employee – been working at Vcu Health System Authority
Pros – I would say the benefits and some of the workers are good people. Pays for school. Location.
Cons – Raises are scant, No room for advancement, Tries to squeeze all your knowledge out of you for no pay. Multiple job duties with little or no recognition/pay. Way behind the private sector in pay.
Advice to Senior Management – I would say pay workers what they are worth and encourage growth. While encouraging growth be competitive with the salaries. Be consistent in how you treat employees and stop playing favorites and making rules for one set of people.

Former Employee – worked at Vcu Health System Authority
Pros – The opportunity to work here was great as it allowed me to build a solid foundation in the health field. This is a fast growing institution.
Cons – Because it is so large, the management may not be as familiar with each employee. I was not given the ability to grow upwards in the company.
Advice to Senior Management – Become more familiar with the employees. Offer more training and team building opportunities. Stop worrying so much with growing the facilities and focus more on your human capital.
