Company has great benefits but wish they valued those that have put the time in at the company

Anonymous (Current Employee) Las Vegas, NV

ProsGreat benefits, great tm events to show how the company feels in a whole about its employees. New leadership training is very good and will bring the skills necessary to managers that are lacking.

ConsWork life balance could be better as well as realistic expectations from employees. Communication is lacking is some departments especially concerning when the department that needs improvement should lead by example..

Advice to Senior ManagementLook at some of the newer leadership and ask their teams how they are doing?

    The Worst!!!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Las Vegas, NV

ProsVery nice property and free food

ConsEmployees complain about being written up, highly inexperience employees. Not joking -- makes one wonder how they got their position. It seems like everyone in the department is in an entry level position. A lot of phony two faced people. Very disingenuous individuals work there. Not allowed to speak up - change or offer suggestions it's just not acceptable. A lot of gossip in the office. People who have been there for 5 years or more are still in entry level positions. The pay is way below average.

High turn over. This company is great for someone who doesn't want to grow within the company or who is not a hard worker, do what's asked of you and never make any suggestions and don't rock the boat or they will find some way to fire you, you'll be just fine if your phony and do everything that's asked of you. The culture here is absolutely hideous, employees seem unhappy and poor attitudes are common place here.

I've never worked for a company that does not want employees to advance or suggest things that might benefit their company. They are very out dated in their thinking and use very archaic systems, verbiage and processes. Most companies now days don't operate like this. No wonder a lot of the employees want to work for a certain company in town and not the Venetian. I've over heard several asking about another company which shall remain nameless! Because this place is just not a good environment to work in. The employees are over stress, underpaid, and over worked. Everything they do is behind the times. It's almost shocking -- it really is that bad!! Also explains why theirs ALWAYS jobs available in the advertising department.

Advice to Senior ManagementAcknowledge your best employees, allow employees to make suggestions and contribute to the making the company a great place to work by trusting them and giving them a voice. Sometimes you are not always right! Some times employees have great ideas, they need work life balance, they deserve promotions and other opportunities that other companies afford their employees. Look for things you could do better to make your employees happy and not feel like they have to back stab each other to get ahead. Or feel like they have to worry they will lose their job.

Good pay, good benefits, only about the bottom line, not the people

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsExcellent benefits and pay, feeds you twice a day, in house uniform upkeep and cleaning

ConsRequesting time off almost non existant, always short on staff in both lower level employees and management, very impersonal place

    Disappointed

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsBenefits are good. Have great perks and try to change. Mr. Boyd and Caparella are wonderful people who really care about the employees.

ConsHorrible two-faced phonies with no experience run the place. No career advancement unless you are directed to back-stab coworkers to get ahead.

Advice to Senior ManagementFire the lot and start fresh with employees who have integrity and talent. Fire the VPs who undermine the hard work of Boyd and Caparella.

    CORRUPTION at it's finest

Operations Manager (Current Employee) Las Vegas, NV

ProsIt's a paycheck! You are only expected to be a "c" and will never be more, i.e. parking you car and getting inside the building = a paycheck!

ConsCompany values are lacking to say the least. There is no sense of structure or consistency when relying on senior management, especially when making timely decisions. There are policies but depends on the mood of the day as to if these policies are enforced. If you want to make a paycheck while only expected to do the minimum, i.e. showing up for work, then this is the place for you. You will NEVER advance because they do not promote within unless you will fit into the senior management BS club. The word "mentor" is not part of your superiors vocabulary and if you even attempt to take the initiative for self growth. Then get ready to be shut down, coached and then have your ideas presented at the next meeting by your superior. They preach cost cuts but yet the company still continues to develop existing dinosaur projects to increase personal revenue in their executive pockets. Like I said show up, stay under the radar, be a yes man and you will do just fine. You will never advance, never be acknowledged for you worth or be encouraged to be more than a "c" rated employee. And if you are salary then only expect to be told you are getting a bonus, then a week later you are not getting a bonus, and the next day attend a company wide meeting to discover that you are getting 50% of a bonus even though your department met 100% of their set expectations. Moral is always low and you never see employee's smiling at this company.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a step back and review each department especially the VP in each department. Listen to the feedback and get rid of the toxins that suck the life out of their employee's. The senior management needs to come out of meetings about meetings to and get to know their employee's, mentor, lead by example and stop acting like middle management is there to lick your toe jam. Stop hiding behind your secretaries and make time for the middle management. Increase salaries more than 2% a year, is that all we are worth to this multi billion dollar company is 2%? Especially when there is no balance between work and family. You expect us to be at your beckon call during child birth, vacations, bathroom breaks, school functions, even while driving. Respect those you are fighting your battles on a daily basis instead of treating them like prisoners of a concentration camp.

    Great company & benefits

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Las Vegas, NV

ProsBenefits and the ability to grow up the chain. This company has a solid foundation and creates a successful environment for all. There's a reason they are the #1 company to work for in Las Vegas!

ConsPriorities are not always set well. While there is a good attempt at bringing all departments together, there is a lack of true understanding at times.

Advice to Senior ManagementUnderstanding of the issues at hang need to be understood up the chain of command. I feel like the middle and the top have a good grasp, but the director level tends to have struggles really grasping what the issue might be.

Made me want to leave the casino industry forever.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe office environment was good, Close to parking and free lunch was great. Good discounts at on property restaurants.

Consdoes not effectivly manage their employees. Management is ineffective at best and punitive at worst. No consideration is given for work/life balance.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhen you hire someone to manage projects, give them the authority necessary to complete the project not just the responsibility for getting it done. This is simply a recipee for failure. If you want someone to be scapegoat change the job description.
