Current Employee – been working at Veolia Transportation full-time for more than a year
Pros – Your schedule only stays the same for 3 months, and depending on your seniority your weekly schedule usually has different routes in it. So there's not really time to get bored with what you're doing day to day. Sometimes you get to know the people who ride the bus every day on your route and that makes it a friendlier place to work.
Cons – Dealing with some of the more "colorful" people can be trying. Homeless, un-hygenic (I know that's not really a word), drunks and other substance abusers are just a few. We can't do anything about them unless they break a "rule" or cause a disturbance and ask them to leave the bus. It's sad, but the AC is recirculating air and can quickly stink up the bus and everyone pays for it.

Current Employee – been working at Veolia Transportation full-time for more than a year
Pros – weekends off and decent hours
Cons – RTC changes of routes, fares all the time, express routes blow, if RTC wants to control so much why do they contract vegas out to others.
Advice to Senior Management – wake up and get a back bone, there nothing but puppets of RTC.

Current Employee – been working at Veolia Transportation full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Health Benefits were decent, and I met a lot of dedicated drivers who were not appreciated at all.
Cons – Always has been a us against them atmosphere between management and the bulk of the labor force, Drivers, Mechanics, Etc. Its not really even hidden. Just listen to the comments made by Op manager or safety and train. manager... they talk as if we (the drivers) are the enemy and in need of constant policing to keep us on the straight and narrow.
Advice to Senior Management – 1st , I guess start looking for new jobs since Veolia will not be awarded the contract again. 2. Don't get caught up in being so damned distant and superior, after all most of you were drivers at some time in life, if not you must of been human at some time. Don't feel so bad we are are the one's getting tossed to MV Trans and I hear they might be just as nasty as you were

Current Employee – been working at Veolia Transportation full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Benefits are usually really good. The company tends to promote from within with great frequency and has a policy of doing so. Their stance on professional development and education is superb.
Cons – The pay is average. Demands on time; especially shifting and-or grueling schedules and unending one-way communication can be overwhelming. This is an average company when it comes to business practices; while they take great care to obey the law, the corporate management practices leave something to be desired in the areas of ethics and common sense - with particular regard to their clients, and their vested employees. I actually do have eight bosses to report to.
Advice to Senior Management – If employees show genuine interest and demonstrate profitable conduct in continuing to work in the transit field, and desire to stay with the company even though the company is abandoning the local market, let them transfer when they ask for it. Don't "lose" or delete their applications. Be honest, don't tease. If you don't want them, say so.

Former Employee – worked at Veolia Transportation full-time for less than a year
Pros – The people are fun and good to work with. The training staff was nice to work with.
Cons – Low wages for drivers and ability to grow. The place has low morale. But there is inconsistency in discipline, I could never tell what the process was, one driver would be rehired but he had so many points! If you gave a good excuse to management about absences they would drop points and it was so inconsistent. The issue with us driving our own cars during relief was concerning, turning over my vehicle so a driver could bring it back to the shop was worrisome.
Advice to Senior Management – Become more consistent and increase wages to the staff. Stop playing favorites and have a straight forward discipline process. It seems like only one manager makes decisions on discipline. More communication, the place runs on gossip rather than being open. I find out more in the driver's lounges than from the managers themselves.

Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work team!

Current Employee – been working at Veolia Transportation
Pros – Large company with worldwide reputation for excellence and high standard of performance in service to their client.
Cons – As usual, any company that has human beings as employees will have blemishes among both rank and file and management personnel.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop humiliating and antagonizing your workforce and morale will improve drastically.
