I have been working at Vera Bradley part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The team is great and so is the discount.

    Cons

Constantly running sales and promotions as well as competing with the sales on-line. Women are always looking for a "deal" instead of wanting to come in and pay a fair price for a great item.

I have been working at Vera Bradley part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Really good training, friendly people, flexible managers and hours. Everyone who works there has a great personality and sticks to the Girls Best Friend. I really enjoyed working with the people there even the managers.

    Cons

The customers tend to expect huge discounts, and sometimes can fight about it. The scheduling can sometimes be a pain. There aren't too many cons to this job I usually had a great experience working for this company

I worked at Vera Bradley part-time

    Pros

I love the company and the discounts. I felt appreciated as an employee. My managers and coworkers were fantastic! They were so flexible and encouraging. The customers are nice and passionate about the products. I worked part time and then I worked as a seasonal employee for a few years. They were always so flexible when it came to working seasonal. Overall, I had a great experience at Vera Bradley.

    Cons

I don't really have any complaints.

I worked at Vera Bradley part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Amazing discount, great music, wonderful associates, lots of communication, and the clientele (for the most part) is friendly and easy to deal with. Great atmosphere, always something to laugh about, very supportive and understanding team. I never wanted to leave.

    Cons

The company isn't very keen on moving people up. I was there a few years and applied for a higher position three times, and was denied all three times. However, they will happily hire someone who doesn't know anything about the company and waste money and time training them from scratch versus promoting someone who's been with the company and knows and understands the fundamentals of the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice is to give a chance to the people you already have on hand. There are plenty of store associates who want to move up the ladder. I dreamed of one day managing my own store, but that dream kept getting squashed every time I went in for an interview. Give your store associates a chance to grow in the company, and you will be happily surprised at the results you will receive.
