    Pros

Some bright folks (although they are leaving in droves)
Sales team is strong but they are losing loads of good sales people
Lower level (<director) folks are very helpful and friendly

    Cons

    Product line is very stale
    Corporate culture is very acidic
    Very poor work/life balance
Turnover in R&D and HQ is extreme
Uncompetitive in any way with the first class companies in the area

    Advice to Management

Take stock in the recent wave of turnover and start to really think about how you treat your people. The job market is very good in Seattle and talented people will not have a hard time switching even within the industry to find a better spot. Recruiting talent will continue to be a challenge if your already very poor reputation worsens.

    Pros

    Current products are still selling

    Cons

Timeline before quality & compliance. Non-existence of work-life balance. A very skewed workplace

    Advice to Management

Stop throwing people under the bus and stop your selective hearing. E.g., made people present best case timeline and ignored all the listed risks. When those risks popped up, you threw people under the bus – this kind of behavior must stop.

    Pros

The culture was great and my sales counterparts in other regions were friendly, nice and always willing to help. Verathon definitely does a fantastic job finding good quality talent and promoting from within. The products are good, the training is good and the customer service and support is very good.

    Cons

Restructuring leaves uncertainty for employees. Need to add new products.

    Pros

    Some bright people
    Niche technologies
    Backing of a major corporation

    Cons

    Work/life balance does not exist
Schedule is the only thing that matters; not quality, employees or "doing the right thing"
For a 29-year old company there are major gaps in corporate structure including Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Marketing

    Advice to Management

Turning Verathon into "a platform for future acquisitions leveraging the talented management team" does not require the hatchet job currently being carried out by "talented" management. The rate of attrition is staggering and the end result will be the continued loss of bright, dedicated, long-term employees.

    Pros

Nice atmosphere with pretty decent benefits

    Cons

Parent company has been making drastic changes causing confusion and chaos

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the customers needs. They will take their business elsewhere if no one can answer their call or fix their broken units for weeks.
