    Pros

    Great opportunity for driven individuals to shine.
    Active, Industry leader. There is always a new product or project in the pipeline.
    Hires and promotes from within first.
    Recognition is given and performance is rewarded.
    Company wide week long shutdown 2x a year = time off without work piling up.

    Cons

    Sink or swim approach to new hires. Works well when hiring from within but outsiders need to quick and capable to make it here. Aggressive approach to the marketplace means many positions require the employee to remain "always on". Slackers and B team players need not apply.

    Hum .... This is a hard question, since really are no Pros!

    Cons

    employees treated bad ! Management doesn't care about the employees. No opportunities at all. High employee turnover. company is a mess. Managers lie and tell you one thing today and something different the next day. Stock is down 42%! Managers sneek around and listen in on employees talking. Not honest place to work. Employees are not trusted and managers do not tell employees anything. Back stabbing place to work. 2 week shutdown, BUT you need to use YOUR VACATION time and if you do not have vacation, you DO NOT GET PAID! From the start employees not given much vacation time. HR must be writing reviews and saying how "great" company - how can the company be great is CEO and CFO gone ? Ask yourself these questions.

    the only pro is that you do get a desk and chair

    Cons

    A job at any other company is better than at VeriFone. The managers and company do not care about the employees. office space is old and rundown. Managers treat employees like 5 yr old children, telling them what to do, how to do it. If you do not do it just like they tell you, they verbally attack you. It's like being in communist China, or a prison. managers sneak around to see if you are surfing the web. no perks, except day old coffee and tea. If I could give VeriFone no stars, that is what I would rate the company.

    Pros

    At first it seemed an OK place,until you find out it is a dead end job in a very political environment.

    Cons

    Horrible work environment. No career opportunities Worker bees are just line items. They monitor when you go to bathroom etc ... Manager are the ones that don't have any skills. Manage by fear. Very political. Very secretive, competition between departments. It is a self destructing environment. Old technology. no strategy, no vision.

    Pros

    Good salary. Nice office. Decent equipment. Wide product variety.

    Cons

    Very little opportunity for promotion or upward mobility. High turnover. Long hours - expected to be on-call virtually 24/7. Very little camaraderie. Employees are in competition with each other. Due to high turnover, very little assistance is offered.

    Pros

    Fast paced.
    Very busy.
    No idle time.
    Willing to spend money on new technology.

    Cons

    Employees are not valued, it's all about hitting the numbers here.
    Directors will make you scared to have an opinion that differs from his own.
    High turnover.
    Quality of life is low.
    Politics within the department are unbelievably sneaky at times.

    Find directors more experienced. Change company culture.

    Pros

    The company is an industry leader. Because of that, you will have plenty of opportunity to work at the cutting edge of the payments industry. It also affords a bredth of opprotunities to work on differing aspects of hardware and software. The company is very spread out among many offices, allowing for work-from-home flexibility.

    Cons

    Stockholders come first, followed by customers, followed by executives, followed by middle management. Worker bees at the botton are line items. The company is very top-heavy. The ratio of managers to individual contributors is the highest I've ever seen. Most processes and proceedures are home-grown, making day-to-day business more complex than it needs to be. Best practices are rare.

    Provide adequite staffing for projects so that things can be done right the first time. Consolidate under fewer roofs - things will get much more efficient.
