    Pros

    Some growing pains as it restructures.

    Cons

    Takes a bit longer than necessary to get to know the teams; however, that depends whom your immediate supervisor is and how well he/she respect you and wishes to help you grow. This can happen anywhere though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The shut-downs were mandatory and because of that ate up vacation time to either July 4th or Christmas.

    Comparable benefits. Company Shutdown, Mandatory Week Vacation twice per year.

    Cons

    Low Commission, Monitored Calls / Micro Management, Little to no regards for Customer concerns & issues; low regard for employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Improve on communications across the board; update documentation & web site to accurate information. Show concern for products and customer satisfaction. Less Voice Mail, more answering calls.

    Pros

    Company is innovative and cutting edge. It's helping to lead the way in "payment as a service" and multiple options for for payment and back office services for everything from gas stations and convenience stores to national brand larger chains. There are even available options for mobile and "mom and pop" locations.

    Cons

    Training seems to be a bit haphazard and the learning process seems to be more punitive and reactionary as opposed to thorough and proactive. The ability to work independently is touted as an important and necessary attribute, but in practice excessive micromanagement seems to be the watchword. Though busy, there seems to be no opportunity to interact with and learn from other departments and how they fit into the process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Actual training guidelines would be majorly helpful for anyone just coming in and not familiar with VeriFone "culture". To be thrown to the wolves (so to speak) is not helpful to anyone trying to find their footing. Better communication between department (especially on process and process improvement) should be worked on in the near future. Communication in this culture is paramount, but there seems to be far more talking at than talking to.

    Pros

    Valuable human talent in staff. Good products. Can't find anything else positive.

    Cons

    There's minimum training or leadership whatsoever. Employees are the least concern of the company. No incentives, perks or bonuses for employees. Excessive work loads and no leadership in the department. Salaries are ridiculously low for the amount of work and responsibility you are given.
    Looks like the nastiest employees get promoted more often. It's hard to find a nice and friendly boss in Clearwater.
    There's no care for the customer either. The company seems to focus only on making money no matter what...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Learn to appreciate your staff. They are the most valuable asset in your company. The new CEO wants to make VeriFone become a leading market company like Apple: how about you learn how APPLE values and treasures its employees?

    Pros

    The team I worked with was ok. A lot of acquisition made the company unmanageable.

    Cons

    Lack of budget. No managers onsite on daily basis and lack of motivation to do anything. Poor pay and not a lot of benefits. Layoffs are pretty common scene here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You should look at what other companies like linkedin or glass door do to their employees. Encourage innovation and motivate good employees. Otherwise there will be nothing but junk left behind.

    Pros

    The pay is good.

    Cons

    This company will use you for everything you have and will then blame you for executive management failures. There is still plenty of house cleaning that is needed to improve this company, especially marketing. They occasionally fire or layoff co-workers to remind us all to stay in line.
    This company can take a good thing and destroy it. This includes people and acquired products. There is little future in terminals, but Verifone can't do anything to get out of the terminal space. They bought Sailpay and quickly destroyed it. Then they bought Globalbay and destroyed that too. The negative energy of this place is too heavy to recover.

    Remove everyone from your directors up who has been at the company more than a few years.

    Pros

    One of the pros for working at VeriFone, is that you are always involved with new technologies that are being used everyday by 99% of the US.

    Cons

    The company is too spread out over the US. At times it is too difficult to get work accomplished when dealing with employees in all areas.
