I have been working at Verio full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people in the trenches are some of the best people in the world and years after working there they are still some of my best friends.

    Cons

Shenanigans with pay scales. I've seen many people get what they thought was a promotion only to find it to be a lateral move with a minimal raise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop playing games with your peole. Either pay them and treat them right or you are going to loose great talent.

I worked at Verio full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The pros to working at Verio consist of...

    - Competitive salaries
    - Pleasant, if rather mundane and cramped workspaces
    - Plenty of camaraderie among workmates
    - Many local eateries and services

    Cons

Among the downsides to working at Verio are...

    - The workspaces are generic corporate "cubes" and small offices.
    - The company always seems to be one step behind regarding web hosting technology
    - The management structure is inflexible
    - Corporate downsizing always seems to be a worry among employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Advice to Verio's management...

    - Nix the stuffy corporate image. Fashion an image that's more in line with the "out of the box" thinking and creativity of today's youth. Verio seems to be stuck in a 1990's marketing persona.
    - Try to do better to remove the wall between management and employees. The managerial mindset often makes subordinates feel like inferiors and not fellow Verio employees.
    - Don't rely so much on ViaVerio. Reel in the partner program, concentrate on the core business and develop it and it's products imaginatively.

I worked at Verio full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You want to live in south Florida. Most all other offices are closed or closing now as of mid-2013. There may still be some openings in Denver for accounting.

    Cons

Constant reorganization. Some employees get fired and rehired before their severence is even up. Japanese leadership treats it like a farm team or worse a petri dish. Strategically flawed and outdated business model and products. Leadership will not invest in systems to fix the necessary customer systems to make the company last into the future. Portal is from the dark ages. Yes they invented server virtualization but that was in 2001 and they have not improved it since. This company Is unfortunately Japan's bad investment and they just won't give it up and call it a day. I would not recommend working here to anyone because it is incredibly frustrating to always be apologizing and trying to improve things that cannot and will not change. I'm not bitter - I truly think its too late for this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the customer base before its gone.

I worked at Verio full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

My time at Verio did allow me to Network with other teams and learn well above and beyond what was considered needed for my position. Many of the skills I learned while employed there I still use to this day.

    Cons

    No advancement.
    Severely Underpaid.
    Horrible Management.
    Lousy Benefits.
No continued training. Everything beyond your first week is up to you. On that note training was 3 full weeks when I started, it's now down to a week for First Level Agents.
