Current Employee – been working at Verisk Analytics full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Flex time, entry level training, pay for passing tests, school
Cons – Perf mgmt system is a joke, no transparency when promos handed out, legacy management is flailing, avg tenure of senior management is 30+ years, need new blood, short term planning is bad for long term results
Advice to Senior Management – You should be trimming your ranks
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Verisk Analytics full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Convenient flex-time, if you're in the right department (otherwise, it'll be frowned upon, and in most cases held against you when it comes to review time...even though it's permitted per the employee covenants).
- Relatively okay place to work if you're looking for work-life balance; but not much else.
Cons – Opportunity within the organization is reserved for family-members of people in charge; or "friends of the program" (yes: nepotism happens everywhere, but it is very much ingrained as part of how incestual ISO operates - though, they'll now say it's "The Verisk Way".)
- No rhyme or reason to what you're working toward (i.e. - PMP process is a joke [largely self-written by employees], promotions are typically at-random - and during the years in which you feel you deserve them least, as opposed to others where you truly applied yourself)
- Don't expect to keep up with the joneses, in terms of compensation. Cost of living will skyrocket, while ISO will pass off the con-job of "being competitive within the industry" - they are not anywhere close, and will have you behind in the rat race before too long. Just take a look at how much you pay to get to the office, and how much it increases through the years....ISO will give you, literally, a couple of dollars toward that each year.
- Having gone public a few years back, "bigwigs" are just becoming self-aware, which is scary. Downgrades to cubicle space, in favor of a more "wide-open" environment.....so that CFO's can save money, etc., etc., etc.
Translation? "Aggravating employees in order to save a few fistfuls" --- better hope it's someday reflected in our paychecks!
Advice to Senior Management – Think back to how many employees have played you through the years - for degrees, advanced degrees, and professional certifications......only to walk as soon as they were completed. Would it have been better for the good of the organization to compensate/keep them?
I had once read a review on here: entry-level, for life - not very far off. Make sure you get everything clarified and in writing at the time of your offer....otherwise, they look to get-over on just about everyone they hire, by initially low-balling -- and giving disgusting "raises" and "bonuses" there-after.

Former Employee – worked at Verisk Analytics as an intern
Pros – Laid back environment
close to public transit
Cons – Lack of communication from management
Expectations that need to be met by employees are not stated at the point of hire; very unprofessional
Employees who hold a position that carries a lot of weight for their company in the crime analytics division should be treated as important as they are; hiring someone of this importance as a temp is a mistake
Stating your position status as a temp for the reason of revenue and then bringing on a full time hire 2 months later is disrespectful and unprofessional
Advice to Senior Management – Don't allow Learn It Solutions to hire temps its very unfair to the hire and to directors

Current Employee – been working at Verisk Analytics full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – If you kiss up enough, you'll have a job for life , the pay is good, they feed us a lot with catered lunches and other themes during the summer, like italian ice day, flex summer hours , dress code not enforced, you can wear jeans
Cons – To copy another post, that is pretty much hits it on right on:
Managers/Administration are heavy handed/micro managers. Policies change frequently so it is hard to know what to expect. Management style creates an unnecessary high tension atmosphere-there is too much drauma in the work place due to management style. Roles are not defined , leadership is highly inexperienced ( because most of them, have only worked for this company or one other), disorganized, unclear business plan. It feels like I am back in high school, nothing gets accomplished and larger issues are ignored.
If you are older, they don't care what you have to say.
Advice to Senior Management – Work with your employees rather than focusing on managing them. You will get much more cooperation, productivity, and satisfied employees with honey than with vinegar. Verisk should take a more direct approach in managing Crowe Paradis Services Corporation by looking at management policies , practices and productivity.

Current Employee – been working at Verisk Analytics full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Big company, and we keep getting bigger - hopefully, there will be opportunities for career advancement in the future.
Cons – No room for career advancement - seems like people who come to work here end up retiring within their current roles.

Current Employee – been working at Verisk Analytics full-time for more than a year
Pros – Many opportunities to work in fast growing industries, like healthcare. Managers are very supportive of personal and professional development.
Cons – Some divisions are short-staffed, so employees often take on additional responsibilities without a consequent raise/promotion.
Advice to Senior Management – Work on aligning pay more closely with roles and responsibilities.

Former Employee – worked at Verisk Analytics
Pros – Open employee culture. Evolving products and services provide new challenges. Wide range of employee expertise. Part of a growing company.
Cons – Roles and contributions not always recognized by entire company. Certain product and process challenges often overlooked by focusing on next big thing.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to pay some attention to employee progression at all levels. Ensure that job descriptions and actual work performed are in sync.
