Pros
The company supports a friendly and efficient workplace. I like the people I've worked with and I find the work interesting.
Cons
The building is beautiful, but its in a remote area. Also, sometimes the work roles are so segmented that sometimes its hard to find the right people you need to talk to in order to get a job done.
Advice to Senior Management
Have more organized meetings for input from your department. Day to day folks know whats needed and what isn't.
Pros
Great learning environment. Good benefits and a lot of very committed and talented people.
Cons
Difficult work environment due to industry compression.
Advice to Senior Management
Be aware of impacts of changes and workloads on employees.
Pros
Good people ... good company given it is in a shrinking industry
Cons
Better mid-manager communication would be helpful
Advice to Senior Management
Better mid-manager communication
Pros
Fortune 500 company in a stable industry. Company provides good healthcare options to employees & offers a competitive match on 401K.
Cons
Ever wonder where all the sub-par performers from your old school days go; answer Verizon. Just look at the bios of top management, almost none went to the top business schools. Middle management reflects the skill sets of upper management.
Pros
Benefits are good, Union job, great work environment, the pay is very good as well, great compensation if you meet your sales.
Cons
Time is very controlled, for restroom, breaks, lunch, sometimes your the last to know about changes going on in the office.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep employees informed of what changes are going on or future changes occurring in the office, because employees need to make the necessary arrangements in their day to day routine as well.
Pros
Lots of bureaucracy makes it easy for an average or substandard performer to hide. Annual raises are formulaic. You have to be REALLY incompetent to get terminated.
Cons
Senior management sits in Basking Ridge HQ, telling each other what they want to hear. They are so removed from the company's operational reality that it is frightening.
Advice to Senior Management
Disperse yourself ack into the field; learn what is really goingon in the company. Remember that customer service in your number 1 priority.
