Advice to Senior Management
Do 360 to find out who performs vs slackers

revisit training center options rather than onsite training.

The benefits are excellent; the compensation was okay.
The opportunity for self improvement with experience and education was there.

There was constant turnover and inconsistent leadership.
Verizon Business is run much like WorldCom & MCI and look how they did.
Advice to Senior Management
Use the regulated and wireless executive staffs to right the ship; then hire new dynamic leaders moving forward. Share your plans with the employees and they will support it.
Pros
Benefits, competitive salary and employee resources.
Cons
Lack of communication across organization, and bureaucracy.
Advice to Senior Management
Shareholder needs should not come before those of the customer and employees.
Pros
Verizon is consistently at the top of surveys regarding customer satisfaction, service delivery and technology. Workers at all levels are well paid.
Cons
As with most large companies there is too much nepotism and work is not fairly distributed among managers. Slackers with backers can expect to be rewarded with promotions while hard workers just get more work to do. There are pay disparaties (gender, geographic pay grade)

Advice to Senior Management
you can not expect people to be satidfied with their job if they are not getting properly rewarded for a good job they do. promotion process need to be revised.
Pros
Decent Salary and Benefits
Good name recognition in Marketplace
Good coworkers, however, there was very little camaraderie
Good network when you could get it installed
Branch Leaders were good
Cons
RIFs and rumors dominated workplace life
PIPS were used constantly to motivate you to make your quota
No attention on Large/Global Account strategy for the long turn
You are only as good as you last sale
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to recognize and reward sales for managing their customers strategically and for the long run. Way too much emphasis on quick sales at the cost of customer retention.good account management.
Pros
The wages, and health care benefits.
Cons
As was said earlier the good ol' boy network is in full effect.
Advice to Senior Management
Look at job perfomance and job attendance, just because someone share there personal problems with does not make them a good worker.
Pros
Good benefits, Tuition benefits for now, comaderie with fellow employees, we used to have good hours, now holidays are a thing of the past, so are weekends and evenings. All gone.
Cons
Dog eat dog world, what happened to MA Bell? Stress, stress, stress, unrealistic job performance required, not enough concern for the customer, everyone on meds to alleviate stress. If one is not a top perfomer, then you better be following all scripts to a T. Top perfomers are not even given a second thought as far as job requirements go. Sell (or ?????) and ye shall be rewarded. Need I say more?
Advice to Senior Management
Take all employees performance equally. Ye must have concern for the customer and for honesty. Those numbers only look for the month and then someone has to explain to the customer thee bills. Take heed, ye must retain thee customer.
