    I worked at Verizon

    Pros

The non-management workers were highly skilled and professional. You can learn a lot and enjoy working with your peers

    Cons

The management was lacking in many areas. To many layoffs and to many ore-orgs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to take the time to relate with their staff, understand them and take a more positive approach. The need to be more approachable.

I have been working at Verizon

    Pros

    Benefits first day. Nice campus.

    Cons

Was illegally fired, took it to court, and won my unemployment pay. When we chose shifts,, it started off by seniority. By the end, it depended on which team ranking you had. Was micromanaged by certain supervisors; that is not acceptable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your reps, not just your favorites. Offer refresher training to those who come back from disability. Don't lie to reps who are trying to do right. Train the store reps to be truthful, they'd offer a new phone for opening a new line. Offer healthy choices in the cafeteria for lower prices.

I worked at Verizon full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Engaged management, reasonable salaries, various training opportunities are available. Compensation is good if you are a Director of above.

    Cons

The company runs really lean on human resources. Career opportunities are available if you're in one of their center of excellence, but otherwise, internal jobs and promotions are hit and miss.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be mindful of managing the increasing, non value added bureaucracy in your organizations.

    I worked at Verizon

    Pros

So many people laid off, easy access to copy machine and good parking spaces. Building has nice bathrooms and desk space. Not much else....

    Cons

Management is poor and unorganized. Everyone wants credit for all they can claim and at the expense of anything. Company doesn't care about the customer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shouldn't be so angry all the time. Some of the management is the reason behind the failures. It's not a bad thing to admit if you don't know something.

"Management thinks they are Always RIGHT"

I heard permanent employess get some benefits like company pays for your Tution but after you KA your Boss for years.

    Cons

Micromanagement, No Longterm vision, people are focussed on shortterm issues and no voice for the consultants. It is Name sake.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better Listen to the people who are working for you. They know lot more than Management in Specialized areas. Ask them for thier Opinion in areas Management does not have a clue.
