I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You are given loads of training and support all through your starting period. You have great incentives to achieve certain goals and it can still be used a success on your resume so double the rewards.

    Cons

You have to know a little about everything from the bill to phone and everything in between. You are the expert and if you don't know the information then you at least should know how to find out and quickly. Most customers will call you on their lunch break or on their way to/from work and their time is valuable to them. Also you have to know how to let a bad experience roll off you. A customer will call in upset, not at you directly but you are the first person they talk to about this and they will blame "you" for everything. You can in most situations resolve their problem but not if you get upset with them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job on everything, only advice is to give more training in handling confrontational customers.

Income is great. You can make some substantial money if you put the work in. Benefits are the best in the business. Career opportunity is endless if you know the right people and you play the game.

    Cons

Micro-managed. Too many sales metrics and they are constantly changing. Hard to find a family/work balance life.

    Pros

There honestly is no pros to this job. The management is terrible and so are the customers

    Cons

Just dont work here. The only way to move up in this company is to become drinking buddies with the Regional Directors. Jason Myers is a complete idiot.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Day 1 benefits, Health care , 401k, pre pay schooling for furthering education 8000 a year.

    Cons

High stress level call center environment will burn you out within 3 years. Working in tech support requires great skill as you are the last line, we fix things hate having to sell Add a lines and other products as I signed up to fix problems not be in telesales. That is why I am looking to leave now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If a customer has been on the phone with customer service 20 minutes to an hour then transferred to tech support for another 20-60 minutes why would you ask tech support to try to sell them something? To me as a customer I am already feeling irritated and want to get on with my life.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great Pay and Great Benefits

    Cons

It's all about the bottom line for them, they don't care about their employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I love working for Verizon but they have shipped my department off to another state so pretty soon I won't have a job. If they cared about the knowledge their employees have they wouldn't be hiring people who have no clue how to do anything.
