I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent Benefits, Medical and Dental as well as many employee perks. Flexible hours and paid time off and vacations that gets better over time.

    Cons

Hard to advance up without doing at least a little brown nosing. Depending on the store your in sale could be very bad due to lack of traffic. When your numbers are good everything is fine, but have a bad month they make your life hell, district managers would run crack of dawn training to help improve numbers know to employees as "punishment trainings". Some of the managers are good, some not so great depends on who they are and how cool you are with them. I've had managers i've partied with and managers I ducked phone calls, but even though I no longer work there i'm still in contact with a few people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should all be on the same page, have some sort of management skills.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Decent salary, benefits for a recent undergard. Opportunity to move around in company if you keep an open mind.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive as far as the tri-state market goes. Did not get to negotiate salary, it was take it or leave it deal. Very slow to move on getting things changed due to recent finance transformation org resturcting. Can become silo at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work with HR to compensate employees. Wireless and Wireline have two different career paths, need to align them both and have the same discounts, benefits, salary compensations.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Benefits and salary are very good due to the historical union group in the wireline part of the company.

    Cons

Executives are only looking out for themselves, not the company or the employees. Way too many inefficiencies. They creat little. What they create, they don't support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop moving all your executive friends around. Leave the company, you don't deserve to lead.

Former Employee - Global Enterprise Manager in Basking Ridge, NJ

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Competitive compensation, matching 401(k), health benefits from day one.

    Cons

Try convincing your customers that Verizon cares about them all the while Verizon undercuts quality client relationships with workforce reductions and incessant reorganizations in the name of saving money and face. Verizon cares about their clients only enough to keep the money flowing and certainly less than they care about their employees. The Verizon Code of Conduct is nothing more than a document interpreted to benefit the company and disadvantage its clients and employees. You can earn a great deal for a short period of time, you will work very hard for it and Verizon can and may easily find a way of taking it away from you. Good luck trying to advance if you are a person of color.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You've lost your way, investing in too many companies that are bringing discord instead of synergy. You're customers know because you keep marching products and services in front of them that they neither want nor trust you to provide. Your nonstop reorganizations are beginning to take their toll on your clients and your employees which are working feverishly to keep it all together. The dam will eventually break and your clients will flow to one of the many other service providers specializing in services you are doing only a generic job of providing.
