Former Employee – worked at Verizon Wireless full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – 3g and 4g Coverage. Most companies say they have the coverage until you review their maps and then ask where their towers are. ??? Big difference when they think 7 miles for a tower is accurate for getting full usable signal. Smart Phones down to Basic Phones. Covers the user spectrum . Tables to WiFi devices. Data is everywhere. Home wireless services improved and usable if you travel.
Cons – They never say they are the cheapest, Because you pay for the upkeep of towers and services.
Limited at times to the warranty of the device from the device manufacture forcing for Insurance to have to be purchased at times.
Departments are not seemless with knowledge. Cross training should be done . Until you get to specific departments. Data should only be responsible for data, billing for billing etc. Customer Service should not be a LARGE dept of unequal knowledge to try to assist customers.
Advice to Senior Management – Departments are not seemless with knowledge. Cross training should be done . Until you get to specific departments. Data should only be responsible for data, billing for billing etc. Customer Service should not be a LARGE dept of unequal knowledge to try to assist customers.

Former Employee – worked at Verizon Wireless full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Paid well, compensated hourly rate is good, vacation and personal time was fantastic, there is a bit of job security here, also once you become a coordinator, you get a mostly free phone line
Cons – Micromanaged, more concerned about the almighty dollar than acutal customer satisfaction, every minute of your every day was watched, not much opportunity for growth unless you know someone, they don't listen to their employees, HIGH stress, working with cell phones is difficult to make people happy, VZW isn't about customer friendly policies
Advice to Senior Management – Be your employees advocate.

Current Employee – been working at Verizon Wireless
Pros – Benefits aren't what they used to be, but with 401k and profit sharing, along with tuition reimbursement, it's a great place to work.
Cons – Sometimes change is communicated at the last minute, which I see is sometimes necessary, but overall there could be more speedy delivery of change.
Advice to Senior Management – N/A

Current Employee – been working at Verizon Wireless full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – pay is very good for a job requiring low experience
benefits on par with government jobs. good vacation time and personal time
the people are fun to work with
plenty of job opportunities
good discounts for other companies
Cons – directors more concerned with budgets than employee satisfaction
schedules are abysmal if you haven't worked here over 5 years
communication from leadership to front line employees is terribly slow
policies vary sharply between departments, which causes friction with other employees
Advice to Senior Management – go back to the "small company" feel you used to boast about. things have changed for the worse in recent years. nationalizing everything is great from an efficiency standpoint, but the personal nature of the job is completely gone. do something to boost morale

Current Employee – been working at Verizon Wireless
Pros – Excellent benefits package and pay. Ability to move in lower level positions but very difficult to move up the ladder.
Cons – A young company that has imported its culture from its parent company. Slow moving and not very bright management hold back success of this organizational unit within what is otherwise a good company. Outside experience is ignored almost completely.
Advice to Senior Management – Change or be doomed to have your job functions shipped off when the company realizes just how much money is being spent in your organization.

Former Employee – worked at Verizon Wireless
Pros – Salary and benefits were excellent. They allowed a fair amount of time off. Training as new hire and continuing training was acceptable.
Cons – Fast paced environment. Must be adaptable to change and willing to research policies constantly in order to stay up to date on current trends.
Advice to Senior Management – Spend time working all levels of the company to understand how the employees function on a day-to-day basis. Maintain the open-door policy for idea sharing.
