    Pros

Great benefits, and a healthy work environment!

    Cons

They do not pay as high as some of the other companies, but I think it is because of the benefits they offer.

    Pros

Decent Benefits and Bonus, Good opportunity for learning, the cash cow of Verizon Communication

    Cons

Not the great company it use to be. Low annual pay raises, promotional pay raises capped, future company growth is limited due to wireless market saturation and numerous mergers.

    Advice to Management

    Pay to keep talent

    Pros

Great benefits even for same sex couples.

    Cons

Supervisors can be aggressive and use their position add a stepping stone so you will probably not have the same supe very long.

    Advice to Management

Take length of service into account before termination on minor infractions.

    Pros

Great benefits, they believe in the Human element of their organization, both for the Customer and the Employee. They invest heavily in the education of their employees and supports employee’s personal interest by donating money to charities base on the amount of time you volunteer. Did I mention the benefits were great... yes I did! They promote career advancement. All benefits from medical, 401k, education, cash bonuses, stock bonuses, and discounts with various businesses. They push you to always learn and be good at your craft. Tons of training classes for the technology we use. All around great place to work. I'm a Army Veteran and I still actively drill in the Reserves and they support my commitment to serving our nation.

    Cons

Verizon Wireless has a vast ever changing network of technology..... and it can be very challenging to learn or navigate. Setting up training for those new to the company on the technology side would minimize the learning curve. Verizon Wireless invests heavily into the sales training, as they should... Sales reps are the face of the company, but even those with great skill sets and vast knowledge experience, are challenged by the ever changing network we have. In other words setting a solid foundation for new employees prior to going live would make them more efficient workers.

    Advice to Management

Training we recieve would be better served if done before starting your job function. Training employees after they are already doing their job is great but cost wise better served before there is an impact while away from their functions.... In other words a balance of before and during work... new employees!

    Pros

Incredible benefits and expert co-workers. If you contribute, you will be recognized. Benefit package is very extensive. Work / Life understandings - benefits reflect well upon employer.

    Cons

Limited mobility - limited ability to know what limits your ability to move UP! Deaf ear towards improvements makes contributions pointless - Do NOT suggest! New acquisition company / or employee, has higher value - rather than veteran.

    Advice to Management

Give us honest information to act upon to improve BOTH the companies bottom-line and our future.

    Pros

Excellent benefits and bonuses, I would say top 10% of companies in the country.

    Cons

Due to a bonus program, managers disregard getting staff help when timelines for projects and new technologies hit the floor. This created a high stress, long work hours environment and most on exempt salary...ie no overtime.

    Advice to Management

In order to keep your staff happy, you need to hire more employees, or at the very least, more temp contractors to assist with the workload. Trying to get assistance via contractor work is like pulling teeth without novacaine. Then when you do get a contractor, after 2 years and trained thoroughly, the company lets them go only to have to start over with someone new. That is just insane!

    Pros

Very strong stable company with a bright future, that pays well and takes care of its employees

    Cons

VZW moves managers around from department to department to give them experience with other teams, but looses great insight from having unqualified people in the positions they are in from a technical standpoint.
