    Pros

Everyone who works there is approachable and willing to assist you in gaining more experience. There is always a chance to add your skills into the mix if you have a great manager. There is always great advice to improve your projects and professional skills.

    Cons

The office culture is corporate; however there is push in creating a "start up" culture to include innovation, which is working well. As a corporation, there is still a lot of hoops to jump through for any particular change that effects innovation, which has it's own pros and cons for the company as a whole.

  2. Lots of moving parts, but lots of opportunities

    Pros

At the corporate level, there are always a lot of projects and opportunities for initiative. The benefits package and compensation are finely tuned to be on the higher edge of the curve, but not at the top.

    Cons

I see two real cons. The first is that it is a big company with a lot of moving parts, so there is no such thing as a small project team. If you are working on something that is truly going to move the needle for our customers, you'll have to work with a lot of different groups to make sure all the impacts of the project are taken care of. It isn't quite bureaucracy, but it can feel that way sometimes.

The second con is that it is a big corporation, and big corporations don't have loyalty. If you excel, chances are you'll be fine, but sometimes people are in the wrong place at the wrong time and get RIF'd through no fault of their own. I guess that is what things are like nowadays everywhere anyway, but worth coming in with your eyes open.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing fine, but need to keep fewer, more targeted, projects as top of mind. Don't shift goals and priorities every year, the company wastes a lot of cycles that way. Big ships turn slowly, so if you keep changing the direction, you never make any headway.
