I have been working at Verso Paper full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Manage business well in declining market compared to competition. Good benefits and decent salary.

    Cons

Culture of people who have worked together for way too long (very cliquish) and if you are not part of the inner circle your opportunities for advancement are non existent. Culture of non-responsiveness, lack of team work, managers don't address the issues for fear of rocking the boat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

"You can kill more bees with honey than vinegar!" Send your managers to charm school/sensitivity training and actually give them the tools so they know how to effectively manage, motivate and mentor. Listen to your employees as there are some really good ideas out there.
