Pros – Staff at Vi at La Jolla is supportive and positive
With the new Director of La Jolla processes are moving a bit quicker
Relationships with the consumer are frequent and you directly see how your work is influential

Cons – Bureaucratic and political
Little room for growth unless you stay with the company for a long time

Advice to Senior Management – Prepare employees for more advanced positions within the company

Pros – Decent benefits and if you are favored by Chicago executives life won't be too bad

Cons – Sneaky corporate executives getting too involved in local operations:
Corporate making terrible decisions for subsidiary home health agency:
Territorial local management staff

Advice to Senior Management – Trust your teams to deliver quit micromanaging
Reign in Some of the VPs who work behind the scenes to ruin
Others careers, even with poor information.
Resident care executive from Chicago a nightmare and rolled out a terrible Qaip program

Pros – Horrible Upper Management. Discriminatory practices towards blacks, Hispanics, & minorities, However.. "they do everything technically legally by the books". High level of turnover on Management level position, lack of leadership and support from headquarter.

Cons – None. Fair to normal benefits.

Advice to Senior Management – N/A. They know. Everyone is too busy keeping their own sits. They loose the business sight

Pros – They have a Good Benefitspacakge. I like the location; its clean and nice. Its a small communtiy. The pay is also good.

Cons – There is really no room for growth unless you are a nurse. The pay could always be better. The management team isnt a strong team.

Advice to Senior Management – Get more input from the staff. Also make your staff feel more a team instead of just another employee. Hire from within the company.

Current Employee – been working at Vi

Pros – The company has the right ideas and seems to care about the residents we serve. Especially in the communities there appears to be a genuine love for what we do. The company is profitable even in a rough economy.

Cons – Limited career growth, a lot of politics, and money spend in places needlessly for/by a few instead of on hard working employees. It is a very conservative company with too many rules. If you are not a favorite of someone high up, then you aren't getting anywhere except out the door.

Advice to Senior Management – Manage equitably, pay fairly, stop operating so conservatively, and start recognizing employees for hard work, not bias based on age.
