    Pros

If you're looking for easy, this isn't the job for you. We are reinventing retail and are all about having a high performance selling culture at all levels. Being a Store Manager for Victoria's Secret is challenging but continually stimulates my thinking and leadership skills. I grow everyday. I never thought I would find a career I love so much!

    Cons

Work life balance could be a challenge as a Store Manager, but if you develop your team to be true business owners, this won't be a problem.

    Pros

we get buy ins and sometimes some free new items (mist, panty, bras. etc)

    Cons

Hours are not that great depending on your store location.basically sometimes over worked and other times underworked.

    Advice to Management

Try to keep an eye on everyone's performance & give more recognition to your associates who try very hard every day to make some money for the company.

    Pros

Great benefits, and serious opportunity for career growth. Must be committed to traveling and learning. They work hard to hire great leaders.

    Cons

Work life balance - have to have an extremely flexible schedule and be prepared to have full accountability to your teams actions. Tough to balance out of work life.

    Advice to Management

Have an extremely open channel of communication between yourself and your direct report. The business is run by people for people.

    Pros

This company provides fantastic insurance benefits to their management, as well as promotion within the company, and in-store continuing education training.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance, and high emphasis on credit card goals.

    Advice to Management

When rolling out a new store complement, it would be beneficial to alert employees so they do not feel blindsided by new changes in management in order to help retention.

    Pros

They make you feel like part of a global family. Since VS is a global brand, trainings occur often to stay up to date on the most recent products and fashion trends. Training is top-notch and you frequently get gratis (free) items. Corporate believes that if you own the bra, fragrance, panty, whatever, and love it, you can provide personal testimony and selling will be a piece of cake! After working at VS for five years, I honestly have no desire to wear any other lingerie brand or other fragrances besides VS and Bath and Body Works. They make you feel passionate about the products!

    Cons

Competition for hours...like most retail, unless you're at management level, you may not get many hours every week.
They have (or at least had) a pretty lenient return policy. Great for the dishonest customer, not for the store.

    Advice to Management

Get stricter on the return policy. I saw way too many customers come in with a bra that was clearly YEARS old and demand an exchange because the bra didn't fit anymore. Well...#1: women's bra size fluctuates and it's recommended to get a fitting every six months and #2: you can't expect to buy one bra and then be granted lifetime "switch it out" access! Grow up and buy a new bra.

    Pros

    Fast Paced

    Great training for management

    Cons

    Associate Pay
Work/ Life Balance is hard to maintain
Not a lot of contact with upper management

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates and create jobs in the stores. They need more management to help facilitate training and coaching.
