I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores

    Pros

AMAZING FREEBIES AND "BUY-INS"...fun atmosphere, great music, lovely products, fun team environment for the most part. Some managers are absolutely phenomenal while others are so-so. PROVIDE THE TEAM WITH FANTASTIC LEARNING TOOLS AND TRAINING COULDN'T BE BETTER. really amazing company to work for, just sometimes they fall short bc of it being such a large team or large store!

    Cons

fighting off shoplifters in a constant struggle. always understaffed at closing time so closing employees have to stay way later then they should!!! management sometimes is oblivious to what the girls need bc they have to be dug out of their piles of paperwork or LONG phone calls with corporate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

management sometimes is oblivious to what the girls need bc they have to be dug out of their piles of paperwork or LONG phone calls with corporate. They need to hire more girls and schedule better to have more coverage when they need it. better enforcement of dress code would make for a more professional work environment.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Working for LBrands is a very rewarding experience. I have learned so much about business management, leadership, and retail. Great perks to working for Victoria's Secret, almost always get a free bra with a new launch. 30% discount with part time associate status. Discount across all brands under LBrands including, Bath & Body Works, Henri Bendal, La Senza, White Barn Candle Company and a few more! Gratis' and free fun stuff all the time is well worth it!

    Cons

Work-life balance is very difficult with retail hours but expected and a given in the industry. Time off policies are strict during holiday, which lasts from October through January with the big Semi-Annual Sale.

    Pros

Gratis. Company Values. Fast-paced environment. Always evolving and changing business plan. Strong development.

    Cons

Stressful. "Too many cooks in the kitchen." Unrealistic expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A lot of time, money, and energy is put into developing strong management and sales teams. Support your stores with adequate payroll if you want to see the fruits of your labor. No one performs at a 100% when they're burnt out. The best practices being taught won't be put into place if there isn't the staff to implement it.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Associates are given promotional discounts and free products. Flexibility with part time associates schedules.

    Cons

No life and work balance for management. Improvements can be made in the choice of health insurance packages. Management lack support in loss prevention area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

District Managers are unrealistic in setting goals and expectations. They put a lot of pressure on the store team mgmt. in making numbers which can be discouraging for the team. Billion dollar company that does not put money in protecting merchandise but holds mgmt. team accountable. Managers have to act as security most of the time. Store Managers does not have a work life balance.
