    Pros

The company invests a lot of time and money into their employees development through onboarding, training, meetings, coaching, etc. There's a lot of room for growth within the company.

    Cons

Work-life balance is a struggle in retail. The hours can be difficult.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Interesting situations with customers. The flagship store in the UK has many multinationals and we have all learned from each other. While I was offered a career path, it was not the one I wanted and preferred to stay where I was. I've heard similar stories from other people.

    Cons

Promotions can be a mixture of actual hard work and/or favouritism. It can be very childish and immature. Management have been known to be bullies. The bottom line is the sales and that can make or break your career there. They used to give bonuses but now it is limited to sales staff. The flagship store is mostly visited by tourists, who come there for a good time and not learning people's names and engaging in sales techniques.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to respect the associates. The customers pay your salary, and the hard work from the bottom level. High-efficiency selling is not going to work in a flashy tourist shop.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores

    Pros

Gratis every month, discount (30%), coworkers can be cool

    Cons

Management has bad attitude, don't give enough hours (15 if you're lucky), no one is full time unless you're a Lead team member, don't pay enough for work they make you do, can't share discounts with family, call in shifts (not convenient)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Definitely need to amp up your attitude and the way they speak to associates. They need to be more aware of the time they're giving associates to finish tasks, need to train better, but mostly IMPROVE ATTITUDE

    Pros

    Good discount

    Fun working with employees

    Cons

    Disorganized managers
Management is rude and treat employees below them
You have to meet a sales goal

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need to all have the same rules instead of telling employees different things.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

For someone who loves to work hard this is the place to be. This company continues to obtain high goals and there is definitely very little down time.

    Cons

pay rates are not consistent, the district manager is not fair with pay rates. Highest paid managers are those recruited from outside the company, and those who have moved up in the company throughout a course of years, they struggle to get decent raises.

I have been working at Victoria's Secret Stores

    Pros

Better than most retail mall jobs. However, something sketchy went on after the remodel and the really great management team was cleared out. New manager is hit or miss. This particular store is better than most because of the clientele that shop in the International Plaza.

    Cons

Even though it's location is a pro, it also makes the store have lots of traffic. It's great, but if you don't have strong sales associates all over the store it goes downhill quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really should have a better incentive/pay structure

Good place for a summer job as long as you're comfortable talking to every single person who walks in the door.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Stores part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Lots of summer hires and therefore some cool people you can end up friends with
    More than minimum wage
    Discount!
    And occasional freebies!
To stay an employee, you just have to work once every 90 days, so you can keep your job even while away in college as long as you come back every now and then to work a weekend!
You learn a lot about bras. (I'm not kidding.)

    Cons

Have to wear all black (more or less) (although I've been in some stores where ladies in the PINK section get to wear PINK stuff)
You're expected to talk to just about everyone who comes in and offer all the women shoppers a measurement (for correct bra size)...it's not bad in it of itself, but it may take a little while to get more comfortable with doing so.
Like a lot of other stores, you can't ask for holidays off. You may end up getting one off, but it's not really your choice. That means that you will work a lot of them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure you train everyone. I was a summer hire and there were a few of us that were sent straight in and never ended up getting the normal how-we-do-fittings-and-sales thing.
