    Pros

Gaining experience in your field, good bonus structure, free lunch

    Cons

Lack of direction from the top down, no room for promotion, extremely inefficient, lack of buy in at the top, no accountability

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop allowing top talent to leave for other opportunities. Make a long term plan and stick to it. Be open and honest with your employees about the state of the company. The CEO needs to stop changing course when the finish line is in sight. There is no definitive long term plan just the appearance that the people at the top know where we are headed. Stop allowing the CAO to create a political environment.

    Pros

Free lunch, decent pay, diverse culture, annual bonus good,

    Cons

CAO: favoritism for his department, dirty politician, never walks his own talk, retribution, most despised of all the executives, only interest is his financial gain,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Aristocrat please eliminate CAO position. He provides little value and from the scuttlebutt is highly overpaid for his position in this area. If lower level disagrees publicly there will be retribution. Masterfully manipulates the CEO to advance his own political and financial interests.

    Great Company, Bad Culture

    • Comp & Benefits

    • Senior Management
    • Culture & Values
    • Career Opportunities
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Great offices and free lunch are a huge perk that show how much the company focuses on its employees' well being.

    Cons

The company is over staffed and an organizational chart is just wishful thinking. The lack of properly assigned responsibilities makes every person in every department feel as if responsibility is free to whoever will take it. Many times this means that everyone is arguing about things that shouldn't be in their control and they know very little about.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is time to sit down each member of the company and ask them if they are happy with their job and seek to find out why. The talented people will continue leave, while the problem children hang on tight, knowing they cannot get another job with the skills they have. Somehow these people keep rising to the top and the result so far is the highest concentration of the most under-qualified people I have ever seen.

Lower level employees with amazing talent

    Cons

Reno leadership, cliques, mean people, not a very good place to work. Things are getting worse not better and the kindergarten mentality.
OK management they have no clue of what the left hand is doing.
TN Upper management worries more about tours then paying attention to the business. Are you deaf? listen to the employees give us some respect and treat us like we matter. Company is so top heavy filled with all of these IGT rejects here in the TN office. Don't trust HR if they asks questions deny anything it goes back to upper management even after telling you if you repeat what it said in the meeting those are ground for termination. Here in TN we keep hiring people with out any gaming experience, so they make more then me and have to trained them. Hiring is on going nobody knows why and for what reason. Owner has no clue about the business and thinking he's going to make a mark on the gaming industry yeah right.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are putting your trust in the wrong people. Take a serious look at who your senior management/executive team is and clean house.

    Cons

Don't be fooled by the positive reviews for the Reno office. Things are getting worse not better. They are just trying to pretend the bad isn't happening. They are afraid they won't be able to fill all their open positions because of these bad reviews.
There is a reason people are resigning in droves now from all offices. And it isn't because they are poor employees.

    Potential and that's about it

    Pros

There are good, bright people here. Decent benefits and perks (bonus, lunch and other food items provided). Tons of potential in the company overall. The CEO seems genuine one on one (see cons). Several people with real leadership potential. Financially solid.

    Cons

Extremely poor culture. No trust of its employees from upper management and vice versa. Terrible true leadership (limited). Micro managing, and empire building at its finest. They have employee satisfaction surveys that are "anonymous"...do not believe this. CEO has tracked down people who said things he did not like. Most (not all) of Product Management has terrible middle management. They are clueless about teamwork or product vision setting. Extremely immature behavior by product middle management both in and out of the office. Very petty. Engineering area has major micro management issues from top leadership. Disagreement or communication with other departments or management without their prior knowledge is not advised. HR has good people in some areas but their key people have been blinded by the manipulation of other leaders. HR has had large turnover in short time due to poor leadership. Other departments have employees that treat others poorly constantly and are never dealt with.

CEO seems unaware of the intensely negative impact that his department leaders (not all but some key ones) management style has on creating a culture of paranoia, apathy, and choking innovation. Countless hours are wasted justifying even the smallest purchases (depending on department). CEO seems more interested in cheap solutions than the right thing that is not as cheap.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CEO must wake up and realize he is trusting some of the wrong people (only those that manipulate him and/or control costs in ways that have a very negative impact on culture and innovation). Empower your employees. Get rid of/demote several "leadership" team members in favor of those that create more positive innovative culture. See things as they really are. Stop saying you want to be the best gaming company in the world and act like the cheapest, least trusting.

You have so much potential in the company. But, there is nothing about the current environment that says you'll reach it.

Ignoring the feedback provided here is their choice. They can dismiss it as employees with vendetta, disgruntled or whatever. Their is more truth told here than they will lead themselves and others to believe.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Nashville, TN

    Pros

    The company's brand loyalty
Field support team kept customers happy for years while no new product was delivered
Due to recent development changes, product is finally making it out into the field
The potential for growth is still strong

    Cons

Lack of decision making ability of the owner
Still run like a mom & pop shop
Leadership was emasculated, turning them into bureaucratic paper pushers rather than leaders
CAO has the owner's ear, but continually provides poor advise
The company will never make significant progress towards its potential as long as the product development team continues to be shackled by the owner

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Delegate to the people who have the experience and skill and loosen up the reins a bit
Owner should become the chairman of the board and find a few board members to provide advice on running a legitimate business and not a mom & pop shop
Get a CEO to run the business

    Pros

    Great people to work with
    Good benefits
    Flexible
People that are knowledgeable about games and players
    Quality is a focus

    Cons

Hard to get other offices to listen to ideas sometimes
    Hard to get IT support

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Things have changed for the better now that the engineering management has changed. The people that wrote the earlier negative posts about the Reno office were on their way out and aren't there anymore. One was my manager who wasn't good. Management has already started fixing the problems, starting with him. My advice to management is to continue making improvements. There are very talented people in the office, engineers, artists, math, QA, etc. with great ideas. Keep listening and work on collaboration issues with TN. When both offices collaborate and talk together things move fast.
