I have been working at Viggle full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Everyone helps each other and they have very talented people. Other reviews say bad things, but that always happens when people get mad or fired. It's so much fun working here. Now we are buying other companies to add more features and users and the opportunity is huge.

    Cons

It's very hard work, but at least you can create awesome things. Sometimes it's high pressure and a lot of hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish we could just do what users want and work on new features.

    I worked at Viggle

    Pros

I don't think there is a pro. Don't work here.

    Cons

The "goals" are never achievable because there is never a realistic plans to achieve those goals. Management always keeps everything secret from people do produce work.

I always felt that the the management doesn't care about the workers, and don't make any accommodations to help or energize the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop buying companies and focus on the talents under Viggle. Make realistic and clear plans.

I worked at Viggle full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great location and office, including subsidiaries on the West coast.

    Cons

Awful culture of mistrust, back-stabbing, dishonesty.
People are treated as "resources" and company values are nothing more than a lip service.
Because of this, people who really know what they are doing are leaving or have left.
Remaining leadership is completely incompetent and all products are deteriorating fast.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Leave. Now.

I have been working at Viggle full-time

    Pros

Wetpaint was a great place to work and learn. Plenty of perks and a great culture. Lots of freedom to innovate and really make a change.

    Cons

I say Wetpaint "was" above. The Seattle office has all but shutdown. There is a hostile environment coming from the new parent company in New York. Wetpaint has lost so many people recently in Seattle that teams are having to pull way too hard to keep up. The dev team is unable to keep forward progress. Don't come work in the Seattle office unless things take a 180.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some time to evaluate what you really want out of Wetpaint and her crew. You say you value the Seattle office, but there is no effort. It shouldn't be hard to keep the office stocked with coffee or pay our bills to keep things running. Pay attention. Invest in your people and at least make an effort to improve moral and culture.

I have been working at Viggle full-time

    Pros

The people here are some of the best humans I've ever worked with, and the agile engineering processes focus on results without a lot of overhead. Creativity and autonomy are valued and invested in via quarterly 'hack days' and in allowing a large degree of latitude in how features/fixes are implemented. Core values are lived out in how we treat each other.

    Cons

Since being acquired in late 2013, the investment in employees (training, equipment, facilities) has been slashed dramatically. Near zero raises since February 2013. The culture has turned from one of candor and curiosity to one of blame. Zero backfill of attrition in the Seattle office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do what you say you will do. If you value the Seattle office in word, do so in deed: backfill positions, train employees, adjust compensation to reflect the red hot Seattle tech market.

    Pros

Dont know what a pro would be for this company. This is a sinking ship that offers inflated salaries to lure in tekies, later they tell you that the need to cut your pay or let you go. Also they need to buy smaller companies to create some hype, their business model is completely dead in water.

    Cons

If you're a technology person, stay away from this company, from upper mgmt to the deckhands, no one at this company knows what they're saying or doing. They just fired 50% of their technology team because they could not meet any product/sales expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Why bother.

    Pros

The people are great. Made good friends at the company.

    Cons

Ever changing management, especially on the engineering side. Engineering team going from modern tech stack to old and proprietary stack.

I have been working at Viggle full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The people here are super passionate, super talented, and just all around great to work with
The office is pet-friendly so there's usually some adorable dog (or cat) running around
The company is working on a really cool product in an exciting and interesting market

    Cons

The office hours are technically 9a-6p, but people usually end up staying later than that and answering emails on the weekends because of the nature of the business

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Regular company-wide meetings are appreciated more than you might think :-)

I have been working at Viggle

    Pros

Some incredibly smart people who are passionate about their work
    Great neighborhood and beautiful office
Nerf guns; bagels and bacon Fridays
    Pet friendly

    Cons

Smart and passionate people are leaving...FAST
Shockingly inept and unethical engineering "leadership" which promises and doesn't deliver...and then lies about it
    Long hours
Concerns from employees - including those leaving - are dismissed and ignored
The product no longer works well, and is an outright embarrassment (see the reviews); the user base is plummeting
Engineers are treated like machines, and distrusted by their own "leadership" - a bad idea in this market
Misery and frustration is rampant among staff
Little communication, and when it does happen, it's incomplete, incorrect, unprofessional, and too sporadic to be effective

People bolt without jobs lined up, out of sheer frustration and disgust. Turnover is outrageous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the CTO, and then listen to the rest of the company

I have been working at Viggle full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Leadership went all out to provide an incredible work environment and culture to dwell in while working on an emerging industry. The people who work here are smart and cool, and get along really well. The pay, benefits, and perks are very competitive as well.

    Cons

Working in an emerging industry is not for the faint of heart.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more stretch projects and growth opportunity to the more junior staff members at the company. We can do more than you think!
