Pros – Benefits, Flexible Schedule, Compensation, Contract agreement, Trying to bring in new people with new ideas
Cons – Favoritism and office politics by management and colleagues, Cliques based on ethnicity and age, Not open to new ideas, Same old people doing the same old thing, expecting different results, consistent overturn in management, Management lacks the experience to be successful
Advice to Senior Management – Apply rules fairly and avoid showing favortism
“used to be a "family" environment but is becoming less so due to tension between staff, the board and management”
Pros – work under collective bargaining contract, job security, excellent benefits particularly the pension, extremely generous leave, flexibility, autonomy, working for good cause
Cons – frozen salaries, low morale, geographic area makes it difficult to connect with colleagues, potential layoffs
Advice to Senior Management – Quit tearing down staff to board members - it may make you popular now but in the long run it will damage the organization. Walk the talk - we are a union so act like it.
