    Pros

Worthwhile mission with committed employees and management. Good benefits-four weeks vacation after three years, fast growing with lots of opportunity for people who want to stay and grow.

    Cons

I support unions but this one is the worst I've ever seen. Top down decisions, no communication, instead of getting people involved they drive people out. High dues, no service. Too busy defending the dead beats.

    Advice to Management

Plan ahead more than a few weeks. VGMHC is growing a little TOO quickly.

    Pros

Growing company with a noble mission that employees really support. Great benefits. I have seen many improvements in staffing and salaries. There is room for advancement and mgmt supports training opportunities.

    Cons

The company has grown so fast that they often didn't plan well for these changes and sometimes things are disorganized as a result. Communication could be improved. The mgmt and union don't work together very well.

    Advice to Management

Work on your relationship with the union and communication with non-mgmt.

  3. Losing sight of the mission

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good, generous vacation time

    Cons

Salaries on the low side even for a non-profit, management vs union mentality, grew too much too fast and losing sight of the original mission
