    Pros

New facility with supportive management. Nursing is important to Virtua and they are working to obtain Magnet status.

    Cons

Extremely busy hospital. Sometimes the culture of patient satisfaction means making patients happy despite what would be better for them medically.

    Pros

Virtua is a great place to work for several reasons. It is a company that cares for your personal well-being and comfort. It is a company that lets you grow educationally. It is a company that offers various opportunities to participate in company charitable activities and friendly company-wide challenges. It is a company that rewards exceptional work and recognizes its employees for all of their accomplishments. It is truly a wonderful company to work for.

    Cons

The cons of working in Virtua Health are limited. The only thing to which I do not find favorable is that the company appears to be very "top heavy". There are so many AVP's and upper management personal that it is not matched by the amount of lower employees. It appears that there are too few assistants, specialists, and generalist positions. Which contributes to the few assistants and specialists to be inundated with work.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to pay close attention to the amount of positions being cut and the amount of work that leaves for all of the existing employees. As a large company it is important to not overwork your employees. They need to be satisfied

    Pros

Virtua is a very good place to work in ANY department. When i began working for them at their rehab center as a CNA, I was per diem and then within 8 months I was promoted to a part-time schedule. I have worked for other nursing homes in the past which were horrible compared to Virtua. I wouldn't be a CNA anywhere else but here!

    Cons

1 weekend per month required for per diem; every other weekend required part-time.

    Advice to Management

    N/A

    Pros

I was born at West Jersey Hospital before it merged to become Virtua hospital, so I always pictured myself becoming a nurse here. I am so thankful to have been hired here, and I feel I have truly come "full-circle". Virtua recruits the best employees; our CEO, Rich Miller spoke to our "Connections group" and his incredibly positive attitude and amazing work ethic shines through in all of his employees.

    Cons

I just began my career here, but the only downside I have come across so far is that I have not been able to access my "Vine.com" account from my home computer.

I've been with Virtua for more than a year and have been really impressed with how things are run and the commitment to employees. Management provides lots of outlets for employees to voice their opinions and be heard.

    Cons

None. I'm very happy with my choice to work for Virtua.

    Advice to Management

Continue in the practice of putting patients first.
