It's a good backup starting point for new grads if you don't get the spot you really want.

    Senior Business Analyst (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsYou will be a consultant to some of the biggest names in banking and get to put that on a resume.

ConsThere is very little communication from senior management, which could be a product of a recent acquisition, but that was almost a year ago.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrain all of your consultants to be salespeople and give them the tools to expand the business. This will empower them to have more control over their own future and compensation.

Virtusa - Financial Services Consulting is a great place to start but at a much lower salary than industry standard.

    Business Analyst (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsManagers are generally involved in your career and supportive; Great opportunity to learn banking operations (particularly middle and back office); Easy to balance home and work life due to the flexible schedule between clients.

ConsSalary is much lower than industry standard; Some days/projects have slow times where there's literally nothing to do; administration/management is somewhat disorganized and as a lower-level consultant you kind find yourself often confused of your roll or next project.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe FSC arm of Virtusa should consider paying its entry-level consultants at least the industry standard. It is no surprise so many people leave after the first 1 to 2 years of working there, often for jobs that pay significantly more. Management should do a better job of communicating what is going on in this part of the company and what projects are in the works.

ConsSr. mgmt is literally there with a gun to your head makin sure you work hard. Micro mgmt. Clubby environment at the top. Not much flexibility in deviating from their "process'
