    I have been working at Visible Technologies

    Pros

    Sounds strategic leadership from the top-down, an amazing product and the brightest minds in the social analytics space. Visible is a fantastic place to work, not just because we're a market leader, but because employees are given lots of great opportunities to develop their careers, working with some of the biggest brands in the world. Management is keenly focused on recognizing great work from employees and the culture is open, authentic and fun.

    Cons

    I love working here, no cons

    @No coherent long-term planning
    @Lack of necessary resources
    @Zero career growth opportunity

    I have been working at Visible Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    At least schedules are sometimes flexible on days that you don't have to work 12+ hours.
    A precious few people are good to work with.

    Cons

    Only the VP offers intellectual leadership. Program management and principal sales engineer are just waiting to give you a knife in the back.
    If asked to perform a task be prepared to not be given any of the necessary tools or area knowledge to complete it.
    Many who have knowledge will hoard it, and instead of offering help will let you struggle, do things the hard way and all the while laugh at you behind your back. Often they are looking for a scapegoat, so be prepared to be set up to fail and have blame cast on you; often behind your back. Not to mention there is quite a bit of humiliation that goes along with it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Turn the environment around 180 degrees and create a space in which employees can work.

    I have been working at Visible Technologies full-time

    Pros

    Only a select few colleagues are valuable/helpful.

    Cons

    Awful management and very unprofessional supervisor; willing to throw employees under the bus not only with other co-workers but with clients.
    A very cutthroat attitude among all, kill or be killed mentality with major lack of support from supervisor/account managers.
    Extremely long hours, including weekends, with the impossible expectation to always do more. Understandable that the client comes first but equally as important for your employees to be able to perform effectively while not killing themselves. Needs to be a much better balance, and a big part of why that does not exist is lack of a proficient supervisor/director.

    Don't believe the "5-star" reviews below, which are so obviously prompted by HR.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reconsider the people who are supervisors/managers.

    I have been working at Visible Technologies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Solid strategy, excellent management team, market recognition, engaged employees. This has been a big year for Visible with innovative strides made on their Visible Intelligence platform, a rebranding, an infusion of new talent solidifying the team, and great ratings from various market analyses in the space.

    Cons

    As with many small companies, we're doing more with less. That means there are times we're working long days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Continue to invest in top notch talent! We're building something special here.

    I worked at Visible Technologies full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Used to be good when it was Cymfony. Was a startup culture

    Cons

    Killed the money making product after Visible acquired Cymfony. Company is running in loss and it is mounting up quite fast. Most of the good people have quit and going downhill

    I worked at Visible Technologies full-time

    Pros

    Sexy space - BI for consumer generated media. Opportunity to learn online and social media monitoring and analytics. Part of WPP, which marketing / agency recruiters like.

    Cons

    Smart folks leave within a year or two. No longer a "leader" in Gartner's magic quadrant. Loss of some amazing accounts.

    Active discouragement of independent thinking and problem solving. Internal tools can be slow and buggy so junior employees are asked to pick up the slack and be as fast as automated scripts.

    I have been working at Visible Technologies full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Okay place to park it for a while if you don't have anything better to do. Pisss on their back and tell them it's raining - they won't know the difference.

    Cons

    They just went thru another down sizing while other social media analytics in Seattle are growing very rapidly. Finance is very tight. Non management people are okay, but managers/PMs/directors are truly morons. Contractors start at high rates, but when it comes to conversion to FTE, they low ball you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get a job that you can actually do and stop blowing smoke up our ass.

    I worked at Visible Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    It was a fun atmosphere, great staff and very cool location to work. The office staff were great and very helpful. Being so close to Pioneer square was really a nice place to be.

    Cons

    Keeping people in certain positions seemed to be rather hard and with Washington's contractor laws it gets even weirder. Being a start up it was difficult at times to secure funding for certain projects but they did the best they could, I am sure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I am sure the new management has changed things up a bit, but communication was an issue and the constant reiorgs were diheartnening.
