    Pros

It's a good place to build up entry-level research skills. People are generally friendly, and good to work with.

    Cons

The work gets repetitive fast. The firm's bread and butter is in attitudes and usage studies, and the average project timeline is around 2 weeks. No analytics and almost no qualitative studies. If you want to do a variety of research work, you won't find it here.
We worked almost exclusively around the proprietary software, which wasn't that great when I was there. I hope they've started using something else. I found I used mostly SPSS and Excel when I was there.

This firm is a market research technology firm...I don't think it's that invested in its market research consultancy arm however. Good for software engineers, not so great for market researchers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your market researchers when building out your software.

    Cons

Management changes its mind on things on a weekly basis
    Room for growth is dubious
Quite a few layoffs because they haven't a clue the direction they want from week to week

    Pros

Advancement and training opportunities, some flexibility with being able to work on projects you're most interested in. For US employees, health, dental, and vision insurance 100% covered.

    Cons

Little work/life balance, often necessitating work during after hours, weekends, and holidays. Pay seems to be a little below the market. Also little job security--turnover rate was quite high, both due to layoffs/firings as well as voluntary resignations.

    - Easy Environment
    - Flexible Timings

    Cons

    - Manager expects a whole lot of things from you
    - Centralized decision making
    - Lofty titles given to employees who have no experience
    - Management is extremely stubborn and gives you no chance to express yourself
    - Not at all a good place to work for if you're looking for a growth
    - Your work is never measured but just disrespected

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Vision Critical is exponentially growing year over year and is not afraid of making the tough decisions required to build an amazing company. Hard workers are rewarded and compensated fairly. Leadership has an open door policy.

    Cons

There are still a lot of staff that do not have experience with working for large companies. They tend to not have skills to effect change for the greater good and prefer to leave things as they were.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue on the current path and stay with the same vision to allow the staff time to perfect their craft.

    Pros

-You work with truly amazing people
    -You can wear jeans!
    -Travel
    -decent work parties
    -beer cart
-decent training, especially for account managers and operation staff, an a really neat intern program for those fresh out of university
-after a year you can apply for position abroad (Australia, Europe, Asia, or even the USA)

    Cons

-Promotions are slow coming, you basically have to ask for a promotion and a decent raise, everything i got was because I ensured i was compensated fairly.
-Management is all over the place right now, with preparing for IPO so ensure you show your value so you aren't next on the chopping block! A lot of restructuring has been happening.
-Management can be caddy... you know if your not liked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-keep your eye on the company culture your growing at a fast rate and the first thing to go will be the the easy going atmosphere you promote. It's already slipping
-while you are growing quickly, you might want to ensure the valued staff isn't overloaded and overworked, cause you will lose your best people

    Pros

Clear leader in growing space. The people are amazing. Great brand and marketing. Product is impressive.

    Cons

Management can be all over the place, trying to decide if it is a product company or services company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on winning the community panel business instead of getting distracted by shiny objects. Be a product company and carve out the custom research business.
