I worked at Vistakon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

J&J is a strong company to work for.....great leadership, great perks, good pay, good benefits, strong products, etc.

    Cons

Bonus plans seemed to change constantly and the company seemed slow to address problems with products which left the reps ill equipped in the field to deal with customers and offer solutions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stick to a plan and give it time to be implemented before you change it again.

I have been working at Vistakon full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits, salaries, and yearly bonus.
Vistakon has some really great people!!
Good promotional opportunities for individual with degree.

    Cons

Employees confidence in senior management and the company's future seems to be low.
Workloads and expectations of some positions are unbalanced and unreasonable
Promotional opportunities; loyalty, hard work, accomplishments, subject matter expert, years in a position all have no weight without a degree.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to get to know how your department operates...who is getting the work completed and who is not. Support and back decisions made by your reports and their reports.

Don't always take what you hear at face value....verify the good and bad.

I worked at Vistakon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people and most people in management really do care about each other and the community they live in.

    Cons

Some of management are very lazy and try to take credit on projects they had nothing to do with. Before team meetings, there were a lot of "can you tell me your progress on the X project so I can share an update" Why would you share an update on my project?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start pulling your weight and put in a little extra effort.

    Pros

you get paid to do it.

    Cons

watch your back cause nobody else will. got into a project in jacksonville a long time ago and wanted to finsh it. got stabbed on the back before i could take another breath. jacksonville is a great place but vistakon is a home for psychopaths and other variants of human life waiting for retirement.

I have been working at Vistakon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you come to work and make a difference, this place is for you! One of the top first class organizations left in America with competitive salaries, annual bonus, equal opportunity, and a pension. Yes, I said a pension!

    Cons

The work load at times can be a little much but at least we have business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be creative and let's innovate! Take the great supervisors you have and mold/mentor then to relieve you one day. The top talent is in the building, find them and help them flourish. Don't wait on them to apply for a job.....Seek them!!!

I worked at Vistakon as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Successful company, good balance and environment, great people. Jacksonville is a nice place to live and the cafeteria here is excellent

    Cons

Sometimes had a lot projects going on at the same time, but the goals were constantly changing. The location is nice, although close to the highway which makes for terrible traffic when leaving the site at peak hours.

I worked at Vistakon full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some great people. Great work like balance.

    Cons

Poor talent management, Credo was a piece a paper not a guiding document. Too often the company was not flexible to changing marketplaces. Middle-management was often just picking up a paycheck, hurting advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a flatter culture and promote on outcomes, not activity. Create a flexible talent management process. Your golden handcuffs cause tenured employees to sit back and coast.
