I worked at Vistronix full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Supportive and caring for employees' personal situations.
Provides resources for employees to stretch and take risks when it might help the company grow.
Outstanding Human Resources service center which is very flexible and accommodating to employee needs.
Will give you the opportunity to take on new responsibilities if you ask for it--not stuck in a mindset that limits your ability based on your role (for example, you can take on technical tasks even if you don't have that background).
CEO is very open to suggestions from employees.
Has some unique benefits, such as long-term care insurance.

    Cons

Doesn't have the resources of larger companies

I have been working at Vistronix for less than a year

    Pros

Management does not interfere in work
People are laid-back in the APG office
Company gave us a pay increase to off-set the cost of the new benefits.

    Cons

There are 5 benefits packages to choose from that are quite expensive. For the plan that covers family with a $1600 deductible, the cost is about $400.00 semi-monthly. OUCH! The top family plan is about $667.00 semi-monthly.
Employees in the APG and NJ offices are no longer 401K profit sharing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend to get better laptops for employees instead of the base HP with a 5400 rpm hard drive, and an iCore 5.

    I worked at Vistronix full-time

    Pros

There are few good co-workers to work with and I mean few.

    Cons

The worst management I have ever seen in my career. The management is very disrespectful towards employees. They mostly hire people they know and favor them more over other employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't hire your family members and people you know. Hire people that can do the job!!

    Pros

Company is concerned about keeping employees happy. Employees are ecouraged to take training and to keep a work-life balance.

    Cons

Dependent on Government Contracts - if the government cuts back your position is in jeopardy.

I have been working at Vistronix full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

They have great, friendly staff. They offer very competitive salaries. Their benefits are excellent. team-oriented attitude. Excellent work environment. They offer good positions for entry-level workers who just graduated or are about to graduate college; hence a great place to start earning your stars in your career.

    Cons

No overtime pay. No sick leave (all your time off is personal hours). Although salaried, you still have to work a certain amount of hours per pay period; however, if you happen to work extra hours and report them, you don't get to use those hours later; basically you loose those hours (Worked for free). No growth potential past mid-level positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay over-time to those employees who you know are not beating around the bush but rather that work hard day in and day out. And if they work extra hours it is because the job requires it. Or at least allow comp time usage.

I have been working at Vistronix

    Pros

Vistronix contracts with the US federal government to provide IT services. The project I work on is extremely fun and interesting, but Vistronix is just a contractor that pays my salary and benefits. The work I do is defined entirely by the government agency. Vistronix stays out of the way. So, the best I can say of them is that they pay me reasonably well.

    Cons

The health insurance they provide is the cheapest low-ball insurance they feel they can get away with. The mental health coverage is pretty much a no-op.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why would anyone want to work for Vistronix? The best I can say of them is, they're not as bad as they might be.
