Pros
Overall Vitech is a pretty good place to work. If you're willing to work hard and take initiative there are a lot of opportunities to take on responsibility and the compensation is very competitive. And while there is validity to some of the criticism on this board, it seems like the company is taking some real steps to give more responsibility and authority to its managers. The company's products definitely appear to be technically and functionally superior to those of their competitors and it seems to be posting some phenomenal growth. On the whole the people you work with tend to be really smart and to some degree I wonder if some of the negative comments come from former employees who weren't looking to work that gard or weren't at the level of some of their co-workers. But only speaking for myself, overall a solid place to work.
Cons
The company definitely needs to keep broadening the authority of its managers as historically decision making was pretty centralized. Project Delivery models can vary too widely from project to project leading to very different customer and staff experiences for the same product implementation (although that may partly be how different each customer is).
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate even more with staff as to what's going on with the Company. If possible offer more educational opportunities on the company's product(s). Recognize high performers.
Pros
The readers need to keep in mind that the majority of the reviews on this site are from former employees who either chose to leave Vitech or were let go because they did not meet performance expectations and therefore the notable amount of negative feedback is expected but also creates a negative skew. I also feel that a few of the aforementioned cons were accurate but have been addressed and resolved, perhaps after the former employee left the company.
I have been with Vitech for over 4 years and I have had a very positive experience. For example, I wanted to change areas of the company completely and went to the CEO himself and he was supportive in allowing me to pursue a completely different career within the company. Frank Vitiello trusted my work and thus trusted that I could be placed in an area that I had little to no experience in and find my way. It is difficult to impossible to find a company that would facilitate this type of career change.
In terms of the lower levels of management, I have had several managers, all of whom were not only competent as managers but also let me know on a consistent basis that I am doing good work. I have never felt uncomfortable talking to a manager about any issues that I am having related to my work hours, work content or career path. I believe the management at Vitech to be one of its most positive attributes.
Cons
When I heard about this website and the negative comments I immediately wanted to give my input in Vitech's defense. Sometimes jobs do not work out and rather than lambasting a company after you have left I think voicing your concerns while employed is a much better use of time.
Advice to Senior Management
Positive reinforcement is more valuable than most realize. Always take the time to communicate to your team their positive attributes.
Pros
Competitive salary thats about it
Cons
Terrible work/life balance, no flexibility for personal time, awful culture, lack of communication
Advice to Senior Management
Know your employees better and give them the tools to succeed
Pros
Having a great products and services offering has been voted in surveys as the most important factor in choosing an organization to target while job hunting. Vitech achieved a status as industry leader for having a products that have evolved over time to offer very comprehensive and functional well targeted solutions. Having been part of staffing for over 4 years at Vitech, I know first hand that the bar is set very high in terms of quality of technical and business resources brought on-board. And contrary to other reviews assuming that Vitech brings on low quality sub-contractors, I would like to set the record straight that most of Vitech's members are full-time employees . I know because I hired a large number myself. Other pluses are great people, convenient location and the opportunity to have a say in establishing procedures and protocols helping the organization grow. For me, another plus was the ability to work independently without exessive meetings.
Cons
It seems most reviewers on GlassDoor are ex -employees who are motivated to vent their frustrations because the organization was not the right place for them or they were not able to be successful at their particular jobs. Thus I think the focus seems to be more on the negative then actual reality. Vitech certainly is not a perfect organization; upper management is in denial that there is a morale issue brewing. There is a human disconnect between management and the employees. Not enough employees are trusted to make high level decisions and only a few have the authority to do so. Subsequently there is a back log in the approval process which is both frustrating and non-productive. Trust = getting the most of employees and retaining them. Since the company is not as transparent as it could be, employees don't always know what is going on and assume the worst.
Advice to Senior Management
Trust your managers, you have great people on-board and they want to exell. Be considerate in your business approach and implement a flex time policy. Rate your workers on productivity rather then time at desk. Motivation can be achieved by making employees feel they are an important part of the business rather then a dissmissive approach. The president is smart and a great effective speaker. Address the organization on a monthly basis to get people psyched and motivated. It will go a long way. Focusing on employee satisfaction will increase productivity beyong what you can imagine. Why not do it? or at least try. Vitech is a good company with a solid product line, why not make it amazing if you have the means.

Pros
Have good technical people around you. Your debugging skill will improve after working here.
Cons
Management is very bossy and they micro manage everything and everybody. Which makes it very frustrating at times. Management expects everyone to work overtime all the time with out any OT compensation.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't drive people crazy. People will do their best if they are motivated, encouraged and compensated accordingly.
Pros
Over all the company has good products despite the bugs as well as a good group of people you will have the opportunity to work iwith. Additionally they pay competitively and offer good benefits
Cons
Where to start? To sum it up, the elite management teams (and I use that term very lightly since non of them have mgmnt experience other than what they learned from the owners) consists of only three or four people who make all the decisions without any real thought or collaboration. They have no regard for their employees and give managers who are really doing the work no authority to make decisions. . If you happen to be spotted by one of the elite management team, you will do well, but there is no guarantee how long it will last. "Thank you" is not part of the vocabulary used by the elite three or four and sadly, the company only responds to an employee's concern if they are backed into a corner. I was offered practically anything I wanted once i gave notice.
Project deadlines are unreasonabable and you are expected to work around the clock to meet them with no comp time. In fact, if you show up late after working a late night, you will be spoken too. There is absolutely no work/family life balance and pay increases and bonuses are virtually unheard of.
The product has so many bugs and rather than asking and determining its root cause and who is ultimately responsible, they promote the individuals. Good performance is not a key indicator to success.
If your looking to grow in your career, look elsewhere. If you are looking to cash a pay check, it is a great stepping stone to a mature company.

Pros
It's a mid size IT company where you will work closely with all the top management. If you can make an impression expect a promotion.
Cons
If you are like me who is independent, speak your mind when something's not right then this place is certainly not meant for you. On the other hand if you can totally suck up the people in the management then you would do just fine. After working for some of the biggest organizations in the world I landed a job here. I took the job given the economic situation of our country. What in the world was I thinking? I just had to get away from there asap.
They have close to 50 clients in their 20 year history and 2 products which I think is pretty pathetic. That's an average of 2.5 client a year and one product for every 10 years that they have been in business. Their office locations are misleading because it's just an address with one or more people but it gives you an impression that its operations are huge.
The management expects you to work like you have no social life. The compensation package is ok. For the work you would do here you could get paid 40% - 45% more elsewhere. Promotions are based on favoritism and who you know. Merit does earn you a thank you.
resources are limited and far stretched and hence the quality of work is compromised. 50-65% of the work force are consultants who have no actual knowledge about pension or hedge funds but brought on board as a band aid solution to the projects. If clients only knew half the things of how projects are handled here I believe they would look elsewhere.
Advice to Senior Management
The CEO is great in some aspects but he has surrounded himself with a bunch of boons that constantly suck upto him. If you have people who agree to everything you say even when you are wrong how are you ever going to get the truth? You need somebody who is not afraid to tell you the truth. People at the lowest end of the workforce actually have more knowledge and potential than the managers who take up the nice little private offices all over the floor. Just because someone has been with you for 10 years does not necessarily mean that you have the best in the team. I personally would fire a couple of account exs and mangers if I could.
Pros
There are some very very smart and nice people that work at this company. I work hard just so I don't let them down.
Cons
Raises are horrible, Management mostly reactionary when it comes to dealing with issues. Never proactive.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to really take a look at the way the play favorites and do what's best for the people as a whole.
