    Pros

Company was started from nothing and built into the top Independent Home Entertainment company.
While competitors were struggling Vivendi strategically built powerhouse company and great staff.
Great product to sell to retail in a variety of genres.
Fast paced environment where days fly by!

    Cons

Unfortunately, like other companies there was a small group of individuals with a toxic and hurtful agenda working against the rest of the company.

Best indie video company in US history

    I worked at Vivendi Entertainment

    Pros

Visionary leader started and continued to expand competitive indie video company, through theatrical and additional mergers. Challenged all to be the best, with high standards. If you can excel here, you can excel anywhere!

    Cons

Challenged us to do more and better every day - is that really a con? Only if you are lazy!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The nature of the video business brought challenges to this company, it had nothing to do with anything that the company or its leader did in the years of VE.

    Pros

Large company with good benefits package. Exciting product. Opportunity to work with creative business partners including producers, directors and actors.

    Cons

President unsuited for position. Company required someone with entertainment industry and more specifically DVD/video experience. President made the decision to create a money losing theatrical division which ultimately undermined the company's financial viability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great leadership can elevate a company. Poor leadership can doom a company. Vivendi Entertainment deserved better leadership.

    Pros

    Large company benefits. Capable colleagues.

    Cons

Company president simply lacked the knowledge and the skill-set to effectively run a small company. He compounded his lack of experience with an outsized ego that required he always be the smartest guy in the room.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Choose a more effective leader.

I have been working at Vivendi Entertainment

    Pros

You get the benefit of working for the largest music company in the world so therefore have a good benefits/medical package.

    Cons

Lots of politics with being part of a large corporate company. The downside to being part of the largest music company is that as music declines, the company declines, and then as a by-product, Videndi gets hit too even if we're doing well.

    No opinion of CEO
  9.

Challenging and fulfilling at first, but quickly turned into generic work and long hours.

    I worked at Vivendi Entertainment

    Pros

Great, smart people. Small, entrepreneurial environment but with a strong business backbone as part of NBCUniversal.

    Cons

Challenging at first, but quickly turned into generic, boring work. The people there were great, but were constantly stressed out and worked late hours. Not much company culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create an environment to encourage work-life balance amongst your employees. If that means you have to hire more people, just do it.
