I worked at Vivint full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very good atmosphere and opportunities to advance if you can work full time. Very limited opportunities for advancement unless you are able to work 32+ hours. For many reps who are in college it is difficult so there is high turnover.

    Cons

Call center environment, but they try to do the best they can to make it enjoyable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None. The company is very focused on growth and expansion.

I worked at Vivint as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

I did summer sales and really enjoyed the culture of the company. The team setting promoted competition, but also collaboration and the constant incentives helped maintain motivation. Compensation was great and I got along well with my office.

    Cons

It's a tough job and you give up a lot of your time, but that is well understood when signing on. Certainly not a job for everyone, but for those with the right personality it is great.

I have been working at Vivint

    Pros

Working with talented smart outgoing young people.

    Cons

It depends on what department you are in but sometimes politics can play into getting promotions and management positions, however this is typical of any corporate setting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise entry level wages to remain competitive with other local companies who pay employees more for the same type of work (i.e. Inside Sales, Vivint Solar, Qualtrics, Clearlink). This will lower attrition and allow the company to improve it's culture and move the company forward.

I worked at Vivint full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great pay for call center. Used appropriate metrics to determine rate per hour.
Training program well executed. Nesting helped adequately prepare you for the "call floor".
A lot of resources available to answer questions and help you grow as an employee.

    Cons

There were days that there weren't an adequate amount of employees on the call floor to take all the incoming calls, creating a stressful environment.
Felt under appreciated at times since there is such a high turnover of employees.
No tolerance for being legitimately ill (went against your pay rate).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show more appreciation towards the work done by employees.

I have been working at Vivint

    Pros

The culture here is full of excitement and movement with strong opportunities to learn new skills. There is also a great deal of ownership in the projects, presentations, and ideas that you submit. I also really enjoy the support that I receive from my team, manager and director.

    Cons

The benefits package is poor and I had expected something better from a growing company. Although there is a clinic on-site, I have never used it and it seems hard to use and they do not accept walk-ins.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As the company is continuing to grow I would suggest that more emphasis is given to the benefits package and follow suite with neighboring companies.
