I have been working at Vivint full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Grows you professionally, helps you overcome insecurities, create your own wealth. Great backers from corporate. Life lessons you learn. The travel you see places you probably would not see otherwise. You have freedom you make a choice everyday if you are going to get better. Commission you can make great money.

    Cons

The freedom hurts some people. Commission you can sometimes make okay money. Negative reviews. Not all opportunities available all reps

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work some plan to where you can make a low hourly rate as a sales rep. Get more positive reviews out. Have more unity throughout the divisions. Give all employees the opportunity to seek new segments of the company(I.e internet, solar, etc)

I have been working at Vivint part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very competitive income opportunities because of the 100% commission based income. In other words, when you show up, do the job with excellence, all the time, then you will end up making more than your co-worker who puts in more hours, but doesn't try as hard.

Great product line. Seriously, if I had the money, I would get a Vivint system myself, which makes this all them more easy to sell to people. But even the best of products cannot overcome the failures of a bad salesperson: you have to learn how-to-sell.

Stellar office environment. My specific office of Vivint 365 San Diego is an amazing model for any office. The workplace is full of life, and is full of unconventional, yet effective incentives to energize and encourage new salespeople.

You will learn how to handle people. This job will thrust you in a position to deal with people directly. In order to get good at the job, you HAVE TO LEARN people skills, which you will learn throughout training and the job. In only 1 month of being a salesman, I have learned to build rapport more than 19 years of life. This is a valuable skill no matter what industry you get into.

You have a flexible schedule. Although managers will contact you regularly, you will ultimately be the decider of what hours you work. At the end of the day, this means you could be lazy and not work at all, but then again, this will in turn be a waste of your time and the company's time because you won't be selling any systems.

Also, great careers opportunities. Because home automation is the next big thing, and Vivint is already #1 in this field, there is huge potential for any ambitious person to move up in the company during expansion.

    Cons

Because the 365 Branch is still getting started off the ground, it still has many kinks it has to overcome including the complete incorporation of door-to-door techniques in the reference based sales model. Overall, I believe the management of this new branch is highly competent and motivated to make this model effective for Vivint Security Systems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not much. I guess a few more technicians for installations would be nice.

Also, please improve the quality of Data Entry. It's a bit of a pain to go through SE every time.

I have been working at Vivint full-time

    Pros

Free lunch with a 40 hour schedule, Mostly scripted work

    Cons

Room for advancement if you impress management and are serious about it which is very hard to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make it more apparent to the employees that you care about them and their success. Also even if it is super busy this gives no excuse to withhold them from going to the bathroom, getting a drink, or getting food.

I worked at Vivint as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

vivint does it right, they have always been at the leading edge with infrastructure, customer support, and training.
    Awesome competitions and rewards.
vivint continues to grow and be innovative in their business approach, the solar program looks to allow for more long-term oriented positions to be available.

    Cons

No work-life balance for the summer.
    No fringe benefits being 1099.
Not many regional manager spots open to move up in once a sales manager.
Due to the nature of the job, some individuals can be very cut-throat.

Questionable ethics, favoritism, ethnic racial discrimination shrouded in a start-up like environment.

    I worked at Vivint

    Pros

Cool projects and technology with good access to tools, equipment and software. Pretty lax work environment which probably needs to change.

    Cons

Where do I start. Management is arrogant yet clueless and lots of empire building. Heavy discrimination if you are NOT Mormon. Very questionable ethics, just google them. Very poor planning leads to hectic fire drills often which could be prevented. If you don't mind sacrificing your own personal business values work for them! Otherwise RUN.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at what you are actually doing. Listen to customers and employees and stop wasting venture capital dollars like it's yours. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves!
