    ProsBest people in the industry and without a doubt a game changing solution.

    ConsEverything changing after acquisition...culture, benefits, pay, products...Vocollect is no longer a desirable place to contribute hard work and feel like you are making a difference and getting rewarded for innovation.

    Advice to Senior ManagementChange is fine and to be expected when being acquired by someone as large as Honeywell, however managing the change is key if knowledge and people retention is desired. It is clear that the new world order is based on the innovation that will come from new people in other geographies.

    Great Company In The Past, Has Lost It's Way

    ProsNice co-workers, free parking, convenient location, comfortable work facilities

    ConsTerrible transition from Intermec buyout going into Honeywell. Lots of changes in policies with little communication. Low morale leading to many employees jumping ship.

    Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate better! Not communicating only compounds the problem of lack of direction, tackling business practices, and employee morale.

    Stick a fork in it

    ProsSome good people left. Not much stress.

    ConsCompany has gone down in flames the last few years. All perks have been stripped, and wages are at a stand still. Bonuses are gone. Can't even order a pizza for a team lunch anymore.

    Over the last 3 years, companywide raise of 1.5% total. Given the 2% tax cut expiration, inflation, and loss of bonuses and other perks, salary has net decreased year over year. New Honeywell management has cut vacation time, as well.

    Company sales have been weak, mostly because of stagnant products. The same management who refuses to change with the times continue to be promoted to new roles to offset failing to get bonuses. They prosper while everyone else suffers.

    Advice to Senior ManagementOverhaul sales and product management and get some outside the box thinkers in charge. If you want to stop the massive defection of talent, bring back meaningful raises, bonuses, and perks.

    ProsGreat colleagues, leading edge technology, industry leader developing first-of-its-kind products, casual environment, little office politics, good work / life balance, involvement in the local community.

    ConsProduct development stays within narrowly defined product families. There hasn't been a 'first-of-its-kind' of product in a long time. Acquisitions have changed the company culture.

    Environment was fun, uncertaintity and leadership made work stressfull

    ProsGood benefits, flexible work schedule for most, pay isn't bad, video games available during lunch

    ConsThis is from the perspective of a former employee of the health care side of the company. Things may be different on the supply chain side. There is constant uncertainty due to buyouts and lack of transparency. The health care senior leadership was very tight lipped about the future and seemed to be out for their own interests and were not looking out for the company or its employees.

    Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate better with your employees. The senior leadership of Vocollect/Intermec/Honeywell needs to take a good, hard look at the group leading the health care team. If the business is going to be successful there needs to be more transparency and honesty starting at the top.
