Current Employee - Customer Care Representative in Auckland (New Zealand)

    Pros

Awesome place to work, people are very easy to talk to, very motivational environment and plenty of room to move around the company if you are good at your job. Free phone, plan, health insurance, discounts on stuff.

    Cons

Some IT systems look like they were chosen by a very high-level manager with no real connection to technology or to the customer. As a result segregated backend systems make things far more difficult than necessary. Some systems could have been replaced by free, and better open-source alternatives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work towards making things more simple and obvious for customers. Get different customer support teams to socialise more. Work towards having one frontline help desk rather than separating them.

Former Employee - Head of Commercial in Auckland (New Zealand)

    Pros

Free phone, good location, good salary

    Cons

Strategy not clearly defined and communicated, leadership is lacking, focused on defending revenue streams rather than market leadership (retaining their #1 spot), also focused on extracting more revenue from customers rather than adding value

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on market leadership and adding value - revenue will follow!

Current Employee - ITops in Auckland (New Zealand)

    Pros

A lot of knowledgeable people to learn off
very wide range of enterprise technologies to get exposure to
    free phone

    Cons

terrible culture, lots of below the line competitiveness being rewarded, pointless politics.
Lots of people just out for their bonus and not interested in team work.
An employee who had worked there for 20 years left, and there was barely a budget for farewell or management recognition.
Not accepting of diversity, I experienced High school bullying, bordering on harassment
too many box ticking middle managers, hiding behind process, not adding value
low fixed pay for on-call work.
A lot of poorly documented Legacy systems.
Management not interested in getting with the times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shake up the middle management. Focus on top notch culture. Give the great people you've got the infrastructure to do their thing better.

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Market innovator and competitive in nature. Fast paced environment. Results oriented and passionate about people development. Community focused, environmentally and sustainability driven.

    Cons

Can be difficult to get things changed given the size of the organisation. End to end customer experience needs an overhaul refocus across departments and functions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get into the nuts and bolts of customer experience. Get involved with the teams in your department, sit down with a few people and get to see whats's working well for our customers and what's not.

    Pros

Received geat opportunities to implement new solutions and achieve great results. Support by direct manager and great integration into local team.

Some politics on upper mgmt level do not support the process of selecting the best solution as power play dictates the way to go. Felt sorry for the customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce mgmt level and set up leaner structure. Promote perfomers better.
