    Pros

The campus is a nice place.

    Cons

Having worked here 4 years within 2 different roles I am fully qualified to review working life within Vodafone.
One of the slogans used internally is "We are at our best when our people are at their best". Now, Vodafone uses a review process that reviews you against others at your level. So not against what you have done, but other managers view of you and how you compare against others. In fact, they ask you to submit your yearly achievements against objectives in the early part of the year, however your grading has been decided in the December beforehand between managers. This is true.. words direct from a managers mouth. So your efforts against objectives are are somewhat pointless, how your viewed against others by people you don't know however is not.
All in all this leads to competition between people and no team play along with panic at rating times. In fact seasoned players become fluent in undermining others and adopting a bullying mentality towards colleagues to achieve prominence,
Now go back to "we are at our best when our people are at their best"... Says one thing but the way they treat their staff delivers another.
This is born out by a drive over the past three years to improve their NPS (net promoter score) against other telecom companies. Soon after I stated they were driving this forwards and were mid-table, this year they are bottom of the table. So why ?, well when you look at the above, it's plain to see people more concerned with surviving against others rather than being concerned with objectives and not giving their full concentration and potential to the task at hand. So definitely not at their best delivering tasks using the capability, more focused on competing with colleagues, Big ego's win over capability.
From the outside, maybe seems a great place to work, inside it's a different story unfortunately.
    Says one thing, delivers another.

    Advice to Management

Not much you can do, you have to act the way you do and are subjected to the same.

    Pros

Its a very good company if we remove some of the LOB Sr.Mgrs, otherwise it has great potential and lots of good people working around, if one can manage the first year then things would start working slowly.

    Cons

Sr. mgrs need good team management skills. As we all know and they say "90% of your employees leave because of bad manager's"

    Advice to Management

Pls work in training the managers on people handling skills, I am sure the company would grow leaps and bounds.....

    Pros

Colleagues are typically nice and very knowledgeable people, pleasant working environment, when in the right part of company working on cutting edge and interesting topics

    Cons

Too much internal politics, and too many middle managers whom are trying to protect and create a position for themselves. Some company staffing policies are not well thought through.

    Advice to Management

Drop the imposed gender rebalancing initiatives, take the right person for a role irrespective of gender. Increasing female Engineers means you end up with high numbers of Greek, Spanish or Italian women in the organisation - how is this better?
