I worked at Volkswagen Financial Services as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Positive work environment, overtime available, diversity strongly encouraged, the management staff strongly encourages the employees to diversify and seek lateral movement throughout the company

    Cons

The only negative thing I can think of is how people are promoted, promotions occur when you are in the right "click" of people, its not about how hard you work but who you know, I feel it should be part how hard you work and also who you know

I worked at Volkswagen Financial Services full-time

    Pros

-The employees working there are very down to earth and friendly. It was the best colleagues I have ever met at a work environment. The people are fantastic!

    Cons

-Lots of overtime required, frowned upon if not.
-Burdened managers, they have too much on their plate and sometimes it makes them anxious(I wish the higher ups would alleviate the workloads for them).
-HR unresponsive can seem vindictive and selectively help only certain ppl

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Great job for showing respect to your employees and taking care of them with food, ameneties and trusting them with some amount of freedom.

-Thank you for your outstanding job.

-Hire more personnel and be more generous in work-life balance. Everyone is overworked and expectations of overtime is destroying home life.

  6. Brunswick Court, Milton Keynes, UK, Customer Services Dept., 0 Stars

Former Employee - Customer Service Advisor in Milton Keynes, England (UK)
Former Employee - Customer Service Advisor in Milton Keynes, England (UK)

I worked at Volkswagen Financial Services part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Nice team members but that's it!

    Cons

Micromanagers who analyse every word you speak to the customer
One's got a big mouth the other makes a mistake takes no accountability for this and blames you instead.

Reports are produced regularly daily/weekly which show some customers are owed refunds, but these aren't processed. they rely on the customer to notice, which may be 3 years later!!

Low pay and waste money on ice cream vans and pizza days for customer services staff. Hot desking policy, you don't know where you're supposed to be on a day to day basis. You're every word is analysed by the micromanagers. Worst company I've worked for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop micro managing staff. Stop over analysing every word spoken i.e don't use the word Basically as it sounds unprofessional this is , ridiculous training feedback.

I have been working at Volkswagen Financial Services full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

VWFS will provide you lot of extras like: employee leasing plans (so cheap), health insurance, dining room, etc...

If you pay attention, there is a lot of stuff to learn and you will meet a lot of people related to the automotive industry. You could build strong relations.

    Cons

Leadership does not exist inside the company. All the managers have been here their entire life and do not have knowldedge about how to motivate and retain their employees.

There is no career plan (no matter what HR says). If you are a higly motivated person with lot of ideas, you should look to another company.

HR will never give you a copy of your contract and their procesess are a complete mistery (because there are no manuals or established procceses).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is a company that sooner or later will be surpassed by the competitors because all the burocracy inside that does not allow to innovate (or grow professionally).

Unbelievable that there are managers that does not hold a master's degree and don't speak english in a proper manner.

  11. It used to be a great place to work, but not any more

I have been working at Volkswagen Financial Services

    Pros

Company leases for employees and immediate family members. Average benefits for health and dental.

    Cons

Very little room for advancement if you are not a member of the "in" crowd. VOA has been losing money the last few years. So despite management claiming to take care of the employees, pay raises either dont happen or are an insult when VW AG has billions in cash.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

VCI used to be a place that was fun to work for. Not any more. Now all upper management is concerned about is WIR 2018. The only reason there hasnt been a lot of turnover is because people are afraid to leave the company because of the high unemployment. If the economy turns around, employees will start looking for greener pastures where the employee are appreciated instead of just a means to WIR 2018.
