I have been working at Volt Information Sciences full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are very open and offer you the opportunity to work at a pace that is comfortable to your acumen. They offer feedback that is valuable to expanding your efforts.

    Cons

Because it is usually based on a contract, you have to be careful and listen to the operations team to know where your employment stands.

    Advice to Management

Offer more access to internal decisions, so that the employees can address their situation and match it with yours.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

very few - some honorable, decent people working hard.

    Cons

mediocre middle management. Most top sales generators are gone to better opportunities. the company appears to be run by finance and legal with no focus on business development. Shedding biggest customers at an alarming rate and not replacing them. A good place to break into the industry, but the competition knows to come after the people once they are experienced.

    Advice to Management

    find a buyer - quickly.

I worked at Volt Information Sciences full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great entry level opportunity to the world of HR. Great job for people's person. Extensive on the job training. Average benefits including 401k and time off.

    Cons

Absolutely no room for growth unless you are interested in recruiting. No employee care whatsoever. no perks at all. Never given a raise in 6 years even after requesting. Promised advancement or promotions, never received. Extremely high turnover of in office staff due to the aforementioned reasons.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be simply to show care and value to in house employees or lose them.

    Pros

Each office feels like a family.

    Cons

New Corporate Management has no heart for those that are on the ground floor. They make changes based on numbers with no regards for the people behind those numbers. This used to not be the case, so it was very disappointing to see.

    Advice to Management

We were supposed to be in the people business, so what happened?
