    Very Professional Collegiate Work Environment

Science Teacher (Former Employee) Deland, FL

Prosgood colleagues, lots of professional development

Conslow salaries, no tenure given, very little support for new teachers

Advice to Senior Managementbe more aware and able to help teachers succeed, as well as the real challenges of the classroom

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

A "teachers are disposable" attitude from county level.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe students are the absolute BEST part!

Cons15 yrs... masters degree... all excellent reviews = 42000 before taxes??? This is not enough for a family of three to live on with normal bills (mortgage, car payment, utilities, food, etc....) This is disgraceful! In house cons... poor technology (sure they show on the news the cool tech devices in the classroom, however those are not the norm!) , poor respect for teachers as professionals (example; county controls all ac units... classrooms with students and activities are commonly above 80 degrees), poor planning in logistics( example; teachers are to allow remediation time for students to retake tests ( its their right now) however when asking when the teacher is to provide this time the answer is " be creative", which translates into teachers giving up their personal lunch time to allow for this requirement. )

Advice to Senior ManagementRemeber, as YOU have said..... Good teachers are the key to good education! Don't be so apathetic and careless with your "keys" that you lose them.... if it is good education you truly are concerned about!

ProsIf you don't need money and like babysitting this is the job for you. You don't get what you put into it. No matter how hard you work the person next to you will get paid the same salary.

ConsNo money, no advancement, never going to change. Lack of supplies, money and absolutly no importance on technology and the future.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

It would be nice if a teacher would give feedback as to why they don't choose you to substitute in the class again.
