    Pros

    Some of the best people i have ever worked with i have met at Vonage. The environment can be almost like a battleground and you can develop Fox hole type friendships. A extraordinary pool of talented people. The job Demands that you develop as a person. Upper management seems to care but does not know how to connect with the employee. Despite the stress of the job, can be a fun environment.

    Cons

    Middle Management seldom recognizes the talent pool. Middle management has a nazi type control over the employees, and tends to try and control what upper management sees or hears... Typical corp politics. Very Very high turnover rate.. of a group of 35 hired together, 3 yrs later 3 of us remained.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen less to numbers and more to the people doing the job.

    Pros

    The Technical team are the only asset Vonage Business Solutions has.

    Cons

    The upper management are struggling to keep their little kingdoms and suffer from inflated egos vis-a-vis hierarchies. They are not interested in improving the culture, which is non-existent in the first place. They care more about keeping the power within their kingdoms. The company is going through rapid changes: who you report to might change from week to week, and then no one will tell you WHEN the change is effective except to catch you 'off guard', especially if you are performing well and causing your boss feelings of insecurity. No communication and very rude 'put downs' from managers if you do not play the suck-up games or ask them questions thinking they know the answers, but turns out they don't either! HR function is a puppet show.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Clean house. The senior managers, no matter how 'skilled' will eventually sink this ship if the crew hates and revolts.

    Great pay Hourly employees are great to work with. Medial and Dental are great.

    Middle management doesn't tells upper management the truth about the business.

    I have been working at Vonage full-time

    Pros

    There is a base plus commission. The environment is really nice and chill. The product itself and the promotions are pretty good. You get to talk to people and the daily tasks are really simple.

    Cons

    Sometimes it's hard to get a hold of management and that holds up interaction with customers at times. Some mangers are more aggressive than others and want to be duplicated instead of letting you be yourself.

    Find a better way to deliver promos and communicate with reps.

    Pros

    - The Campus was amazing and huge
     - Lots of bonding activities, such as team sports and volunteer opportunities
     - Wonderful cafeteria and $100 towards meal card
     - Offered lots of amenities, including delivery dry cleaners & onsite gym

    Cons

    - Depending on the hours you worked, there can be little support for Care Agents

    Pros

    It was nice to have an on-site cafe and the $100 towards food each month. Great co-workers and atmosphere. Also the summer picnic is fun!

    Cons

    No room for advancement. After 5 years of working here they just let 50% of the workforce go. Customers are rude and obnoxious. Always about the numbers which are almost impossible to attain!

    Provide the star employees to advance. Lay off the correct employees (bottom performers)

    You get to use a tablet. You don't have to pay out of pocket for supplies. Getting to speak with people walking by.

    Cons

    Pressure to make a sale each week, you might end up in a slow location with no foot traffic.

    If your sales rep isn't making any sales try helping them and give them tips to improve.

    Pros

    Size of company allows you to gain broad experience. Employees are dedicated and hard working and company supports the community in many ways. Stable company with great facility and solid benefits. Purchase of Vocalocity diversifies company into the business segments.

    Cons

    Career paths tend to be within functional areas. Has been a financially conservative company but has been investing in multiple fronts over the last 18 months - driving multiple priorities.

    Continue to recruit experienced senior leaders to drive the business forward.
