Pros
Fairly laid back working environment.
Plenty of overtime opportunities even as an intern (at least when I was there).
Fair overtime pay.
Fairly important work given to interns.Cons
Perceived expectation from managers to work a lot of overtime (up to 70 hours per week).
You'll need the overtime because the regular pay isn't that competitive.
Interesting (dysfunctional) dynamic between direct employees and contractors.Advice to Senior Management
Immediate leadership overall wasn't too bad based on my limited experience (summer internship). There obviously were problems with upper management getting their contractual obligations filled, though. I would suggest better compensation for direct employees and less reliance on generally less productive contract labor.
