Great CEO - Great Experience - great skill builder

    Inside Sales (Former Employee)
    Independence, OH

ProsGreat experience in a fast growing industry. Kris the CEO was a true professional and visionary. He changed his flight and schedule to assist me personally in Columbus when I was only 7 months in. The employees became a family that I want to be successful even though we have parted ways.

ConsSome management folks do need to focus on how to motivate and relate to the staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementUmmmm.... Your in management and the company has consistent growth. I think I'm the one who should take the advice. Thanks Vox, I wish you all the best.

    Empty Promises

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFlexible work scheduling; work from home options for some staff.

    Very friendly coworkers.

    Good entry level experience

    Good amount of PTO

    ConsDisconnected Management.

Much of the Management team literally has no clue what they are doing; only have positions due to personal relationships with Executive team, essentially just delegate work off to the supervisors.

Overworked, underpaid and understaffed support center.

If you work in the support center good luck getting out; they will make promises of "opportunities to move up" which are really lies because the support center is so short staffed that moving anyone anywhere that doesn't revolve around answering phone calls is out of the question.

Canadian side of the support center is very incompetent; US team will frequently have to pick up for the other teams "Slack" also; Canadian support center has more days off due to holidays.

Company has a very hard time keeping their "Best and Brightest". People who work there are generally there because they have nowhere else to go and get out with the first chance they have.

Pays the core of their workforce well below industry standards; but will create random Director level positions for people at a whim. Also; management likes to hand themselves promotions.

Advice to Senior ManagementThink outside the red bars.

    Staff your support center properly.

Hire actually qualified people; not just anyone off of the street with customer service experience.

Pray your products and services continue to sell themselves.

Serious issues at the executive level

    Sales (Engineering) (Current Employee)
    Independence, OH

ProsWe do a lot of good things in the mobile space. CEO is an excellent salesman.

Cons- If you're not in the "inner circle" then look out; there is a well-defined buddy system from the C-level down
    - The core employees that are doing the critical work rarely get any recognition. When there IS recognition, it feels fake and forced
    - No performance reviews; good luck getting a raise
    - Employees are constantly told they will have opportunities to move "upward" but it never seems to happen. When it does, it's typically just a title change with no real substance
    - Extremely high job turnover, even for a relatively new company
    - Average salaries
    - Expected to work extra hours with no OT compensation

Advice to Senior ManagementLook at how many talented employees have left the company over the years and try to figure out how to keep others in the future. Turnover is inevitable, but the reasons that people are leaving are not the right ones. Look at the success that we have had, and imagine how that could have been improved upon if we kept that talent.

Small company trying to make a big splash

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat people and core business is in a growing industry. Small business environment attempting to grow aggressively.

ConsCorporate HQ location and lack of understanding of how to steadily grow business has caused the aggressive growth to rapidly contract. This leaves employees with instability and significant turnover.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on the core business and live there. Alternate strategies are thinly veiled and not as robust as customers would prefer. Offering world class managed mobility services is done extremely well today and focused should be maintained there.

    Destined To Fail

    Mobile Specialist (Former Employee)
    Cleveland, OH

ProsThe quality of some of the employees who aren't related to management is astounding and the potential to succeed is only doomed by the lack of managerial experience and talent.
The talented superstars are leaving as a result.

ConsDoes not eat their own food - doesn't believe in telecommuting!
The problem with management can be described with one word: nepotism
Successful companies hire staff and management based on talent and skill, not high school relationships.
It's difficult to take this company seriously and work for managers who are completely incapable, inexperienced, unskilled and hired based on their relationship to management.

Advice to Senior ManagementEat your own food.
    Build relationships.
Hire for skill, talent and experience.

Decent benefits if your options for employment are limited.

    Technical Support (Current Employee)
    Independence, OH

ProsGenerous PTO with only three month wait time to start using it.
Good to get experience for an entry level job.
More companies implementing Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) means the company has a strong, future outlook.
Learn about Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.

    ConsLow pay for overqualified individuals.
Raises are only given when promoted to a new position, and even then not by much.
Disorganized management who are obsessed with numbers are reports.
Narcissistic management claims they take constructive criticism, but only when it's aligned with what they think is right and makes them feel more superior.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees if they have constructive criticism in the way you are managing the company.
Compensate employees well for their experience and expertise, not with what shows up in the generated reports.

    Disorganized Leadership. Overworked employees.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Independence, OH

ProsMany of the front line employees are extremely friendly and hardworking.

ConsExecutive leadership is disconnected, aloof and extremely biased in favor of their family/friends that work there.

Advice to Senior ManagementGood luck dealing with the business Owners. They are unrealistic and assume the worst of most of their employees. They are not open to feedback unless it is inline with their opinions and beleifs.

Vox Management will be the downfall of this promising company. Management in Canadian office is poisonous to staff.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Waterloo, ON (Canada)

ProsSome talented people and great business model.
Executive management is great including ceo.
U.S. office does great job in motivating and inspiring.

Cons- Canadian micromanagement and incompetent management that are more concerned with positon titles then actual qualification or skill building.

    - working everyday out of fear of losing your job based on what lies will be created to make you work like slaves and keep your mouth shut.

    - Input is never valued and ideas are stolen by Canadian Management for personal gain.

    - Canadian management will actually function when U.S. Corp staff come to hear complaints.

    - Only reason incentives are created in the Canadian office is again to show a fake front to the u.s. Corp office

    - No trust. Creating a rat on each other culture with no basis. Your word against aligned lower management.

    - Low morale and high stress Environment. Only time morale is high is when the Canadian Management is away or sick. Employees actually smile and enjoy there work without there insecure micromanagement.

    - The job and company are great to work for. The Canadian management has poisoned it by its own agenda. Hopefully the Canadian office does not lose some great talent and executive management will actually see what is going on and employees input and feedback will actually be valued.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to employees rather then tap dancing around issues and restructure the waterloo Management as a dictator micromanagement style is not working. Employees are afraid to speak up out of fear of losing there jobs!
