I have been working at W Industries as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great company that is performs a high quality of work. Good compensation, too! It seems like you can really control your own destiny here, with a lot of responsibility given to you if you so desire it. The people and personnel here are also incredible at assisting you and providing you with what you need to succeed.

    Cons

The adjustment and ease into things was fairly intimidating. Until you get comfortable with the way things work and the other people around you, it can often be awkward and hard to complete things to the best of your ability. Not sure if I would want to work there full time!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Improve office culture and cohesiveness!

I have been working at W Industries full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to learn if you are willing. Not everyone is eager to show you the ropes, but you can pick up a lot of knowledge and experience if you pay attention.

    Cons

This company is stuck in the past, and slow to accept change. There is no incentive to go offshore, because you receive the same pay as you would in the shop.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Neutralize the clashing egos and resistance between departments. Develop more structure to ease day to day operation. Hire more employees that can go offshore so that the work load can be evenly distributed.

    Pros

Small company with flexible hours where one person can make a big impact. Very friendly work environment.

    Cons

Horrible benefits, different business units have difficultly working together causing mass duplication of efforts. Small company, so there is not much room to rise. Owned by a foreign company who sometimes makes weird management decisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More competitive salaries, fix the interdepartmental issues, improve employee benefits.

    Pros

    Relaxed atmosphere. Managment is conversational.

    Cons

working in a field type atmosphere. I prefer working downtown. Administrative duties were not delegated to the correct people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a new benefit package. Have the corporate office act like one, and not like a field office. Analyst should not have to clean the kitchens and change out lightbulbs.
