I have been working at WAX Partnership

    Pros

Great office space, talented people. They're hungry to do good work, and there's room to make it happen if you're self motivated.

    Cons

Not a lot of process, and more communication. There is a tendency towards finger pointing, when the conversation should be about what we can do to make things better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be nicer. There should be more respect and encouragement. There are too many conversations that focus on what went wrong, instead of what went right.

    Probably not worth the stress.

    Talented and friendly coworkers.
Opportunity to work on interesting projects if you take iniative.
    Office is aethetically pleasing.

    Cons

Fear is the primary tool of motivation.
Somewhat dated view on successful advertising today.
    Ridiculous in-shop politics.
Revolving doors, someone is always quitting or getting fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talking about the problems in meeting after meeting isn't cutting it, take action.

    I worked at WAX Partnership

    Pros

Beautifully designed office space. Award winning creative. A more mature team than most advertising agencies. Big on self promotion which brings recognition to the creative group. Diverse client group.

    Cons

This company started with the potential to be great but it hasn't been able to get over its biggest problem, lack of competent leaders. No matter how hard you try the focus will always be on the negative. If you can't handle unwarranted criticism this isn't the place for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some classes in people management. Stop belittling your staff and ruling by fear and maybe the turnover will stop.

I have been working at WAX Partnership

    Pros

There are plenty of creative opportunities. It's a good place to build your book. The office is super chic too.

    Cons

Overall the moral is very poor. It seems there is a ritual firing every 6 months to keep people on their toes. You'll likely be made to feel that you're not worthy no matter how hard you try or how well you do. The agency is pretty disorganized so you'll find yourself spending most of your day reacting rather than being proactive. Any time you have a concern you'll be made to feel like the issue is your fault. Also it seems management go out of their way to create unnecessary drama.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect your employees. Listen to them more. Encourage instead of discourage.
