I worked at WBOC full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Most watched TV station on Delmarva for now. Good equipment. Great studio. Some nice people. Promotions manager is top notch. Benefits.

    Cons

Mostly very difficult management. News Director has issues. Good talent left rather than work with him. Salaries are pretty low. Beginning reporters don't even make $500 a week. Have to work really hard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a new news director. Someone with people skills.

  3.

A great TV company with experts in their field, but with zero motivation to push interactive, which is the future.

    Pros

WBOC is a huge jumping off spot if you want to work in legacy media, i.e. tv and radio.

    Cons

Terrible company politics. Very old school mind set when it comes to company values and operations. Not progressive at all and certainly not conducive to

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider having digital teams work at home to increase employee happiness and to instill trust in your employees.

    I worked at WBOC

    Pros

Reasonably relaxed workplace if you keep to yourself and mix in with the right people, most people understand that its not the best place to work so they share the same struggles

    Cons

Pay is terrible and communication between employees is lacking, as with most broadcasting companies you only receive feedback when you do something wrong

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Im not sure there is much more they can do under the circumstances but i will say that the communications is terrible within the company and that they should show some more support to employees who are busting there ass working for 10/hour
